Did it used to tell you your aggregate play time? Because now I know I played Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for almost 82 hours--and that's just one playthrough on Hard.
I have learned that system updates usually get boring in around 2 minutes. That's why that whole "New Xbox experience" was a joke to me. It didn't change anything, it just made finding things more annoying and stuff load slower.
That being said, I hardly do anything on my Wii but play games (or my Xbox) so as long as disc channel will load as fast, I'm good.
Mine updated yesterday while I was Kotakuing. I noticed the blue alien glow emanating from the Wii.
The new Nintendo Channel looks pretty nifty, to boot. I do find issue with the new video streaming. Both HQ and LQ streams seem to be or inferior quality to what the Nintendo Channel was streaming pre-update, and my internet can't handle the HQ stream at all. It's like watching a RealMedia stream in the late 90s.
Incidentally, to all you people posting stuff about how you've sold your Wii or how you haven't played it in X months because it sucks: You realize that everyone can view your post history, right? For those of you who aren't approved, don't expect to get your accounts approved anytime soon with those kind of comments. I did this yesterday for someone and I'm going to do it again, though I'm getting tired of linking it.
I've seen a sharp increase in bad posts in the last few weeks, and I'm thinking Kotaku may need to run a rules refresher post sometime in the near future.
@mintycrys is HOT for Bayonetta: + 1 Follower. A Wii post is like catnip for people who think others are interested in how long it's been since they played or how much dust is on their console.
@Showmeyomoves!: Honestly, I was not a fan of Super Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes, or Red Steel. Now, New Super Mario Bros. Wii interests me since I consider Super Mario Bros. 3 to be quite possibly the greatest platformer ever.
@Alicia: Wow...the Metroid Trilogy was far from a graphical embarrassment. It seems like you read the horribly-written post on Kotaku and then made your decision there. Try this article: [www.wiiblog.net]
Intriguing. This doesn't seem to have happened on the one here (I'm in the UK, and used the Nintendo channel today to play a DS demo) - was it supposed to be an automatic update, or do you have to redownload it?
Also, I've seen no mention here of the Today&Tomorrow Channel being released (despite my tip-off)

This demo did not impress. I was expecting some sort of Phoenix Wright/Hotel Dusk mixed with some gunplay mechanics, but all I get so far are two poor excuses for minigames and no deep investigation tools at all. In that top screenshot, all you do is count how many people you see in the surveillance cameras, then hit enter. That's it. Perhaps they're holding out on the demo, but I am not holding my breath on this one.

Didn't like NMH: I can see that, I guess it's not for everyone.
Didn't like Red Steel: No one liked the first Red Steel. Second one looks way better, though.
Didn't like SMG: Say what?!

I'd rather listen to Navi give me a lecture about animal rights than to have that aggravating sound burrowing through my skull for one more second.

I was wondering when someone was going to bring up how they haven't played Wii in "insert number" of months.
