Or I could spend a minute on GameFAQs, save a few screencaps and then save four bucks and get the same basic thing; eyecandy.
Yeah...in related news, anyone else boycotting Tecmo because they've shafted the Xbox users twice with Ninja Gaiden? Especially NGII and NGSII...christ, there's twice as much game in the PS3 version.
@FlameSama1: That's because they wrote the code from scratch, using an entirely different development team. If memory serves me correct, Itagaki was really pissed at the changes made to both games. As he publicly trashed them.
I love the new costumes, but in all honesty it's just not worth the money to pay for an alternate costume. I just can't bring myself to pay for something that was once considered an unlockable or a free download.
@psycoking: Especially with characters from a series that 13 years ago you could unlock something like 14 costumes per girl for no extra cost, on the disc.
So, Sigma 2... that's still sixty bucks? And the outfits are four?
Uh, I think I can swing that one.
I'm calling it now: Any guys who come in here with that "I can't believe Team Ninja is so perverted" stuff is just trying to look "responsible" or something. These are hot.
I really hate DLC costume packs. Why, of all things, would you charge for costumes? And didn't NGS2 just come out? This couldn't have been in the game in the first place?
My bitching aside, the white Ryu looks pretty sweet.
@Neko_Tech: God if this were real I don't know what I would do... I would just sit and stare... my whole reality thrown to the wind... I wouldn't know where to start, end, begin or finish... thats even if time didn't explode in my minds eye at the time anyways...
@Archaotic: Yeah, same thing for the stupid fans of final fantasy, and halo, and metal gear, and any other game with sequels. People are automatically stupid for enjoying a long lasting franchise, that's a scientific fact, i used a calculator to prove it.
This series has lost its novelty, the excuse of hardware limitation is why we let these games get free rides in the past despite its broken core gameplay. Now they have every hardware resources to fix the combat system, the non-existent AI, the flat environment and the overall game structure.
But Koei won't try... DW are selling like hotcakes in Japan and all around Asia even if the games are flawed and broken. And I don't blame 'em, I can see the appeal of it, a game where they squeeze in every sanguo important figures as playable characters is bound to sell well in Asia.
@rich8606: I see you have no idea what strikeforce is.
DW: Strikeforce is the biggest departure from last gen's DW formula any DW game has ever taken. The game plays like a mix between monster hunter and Dynasty Warriors (because that's essentially what it is) and doesn't suffer from most of the issues that plagued the older games. It's getting ported not because they need yet another generic DW game, it's getting ported because after the "experiment" on the PSP, the new gameplay style was found to work and it's gotten a lot of fan support.
I understand your complaints about DW in general, but please, know WTH you're talking about before you post.
@Tailsnake: I played the demo on PSP.... Other than the ability to henshin and dash, it's the same old DW game. Frankly the combat system needs an overhaul and the enemy AI...
Does anyone want to tell me how the strikeforce psp game compares to SW2?
I think Samurai Warriors 2 was the bees knees as far as the franchise went (DW3 and SW1 also are great). They injected a good amount of personality and flair in each character and the cutscenes did provide some characterization.
Nice. Maybe I'll actually play it this time...I've always preferred Warriors games on the consoles compared to the portables.
Honestly, though, at this point I'm probably gonna just wait for Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes to come out. It'll be nice to play a Warriors-type game designed for the PS3 instead of one developed for a weaker system and ported up.
@D-K, stubbed his toe..*swears*: Multiplatform since day one, actually. You're thinking of Samurai Warriors 3, which is about as "Wii exclusive" as my foot. I love Samurai Warriors, but I'm about as likely to waste $50 on a SW game for the Wii as I am to go out and buy a Call of Duty title.
@D-K, stubbed his toe..*swears*: If I remember correctly, the Japanese actually refer to him as "Hondam" thanks to his appearances in the animated series based on the games.
@D-K, stubbed his toe..*swears*: Honestly, Basara is so over the top that the "emotionless robot" characterization of Honda makes sense. The dude didn't really have much of a personality to begin with; he was Tokugawa's guardian and a damn good one at that.
I mean, we're talking about a franchise where Hideyoshi Toyotomi fights by picking up enemy corpses and swinging them around like bludgeons. It's deliberately over the top, as you would expect from a game made by the Devil May Cry team.
Screw this. I got a bazillion alternate costumes for Ulala in Space Channel 5 Part 2 without paying anything besides the price of the game.
These ninjas can flip out naked for all I care.
@ZombiePuppy: Yeah, bonus content was once free and plentiful. Now even if the content were available to do it, making a modern $60 game match a 1990s $50 game would cost something like $500 (just look at Idolm@ster...) #ninjagaidensigma2

Last time, unlocking extras like costumes and mini games was a reward for your patience and determination in completing the game.
Now, developers just sell you 1/2 the content on your disc at full price and expect you to pay more to "unlock" the "extra" content.
If this is how Xbox Live Store and PSN Store "enhances" our gaming experience, I'll rather go back to the good old days.
