I'll give it a rental at least. I played the first one and found it to be sort of fun until I unlocked the character that she's cosplaying as. I basically played the whole game to get a chance to use a mage character (I'm biased toward blackmages.) Then once I got her she was the least enjoyable character to play as. Maybe they'll get it right this time.
I got N3 a while back used...the demo seemed to be pretty good. But the game itself? Not so much.
Incredibly limited in terms of gameplay. Characters have their own set of levels (at most 5 at minimum 2) and cannot cross over into other levels.
The secret boss was a cheap SOB that could wipe you out in one or two moves even with a maxed out character.
And the Achievements? They were a grindfest...which forced you to max out each character (by playing their levels anywhere from 3-4 times over) and THEN beating all the levels AGAIN.
This game has potential to be a good hack n' slash, but it's going to take a LOT of improvements.
@TRT-X:
Agreed on every point. So much potential, and the story was interesting. As was having players play on both sides of the war. But the game play...they didn't seem to have thought that through all the way.
It actually played like a Dynasty Warriors knock-off, but they didn't use the elements that make DW good.
I really enjoyed the first game, it was pretty and the sheer number of enemies was impressive, as were the big special attacks.
The main thing holding it back was a lack of checkpoints mid way through missions. This vital flaw crippled the game, as you would often get all the way to the end of a very long very difficult mission, only to CHEAPLY die without much of a chance right at the end, and have to start again. There was much ragequitting in this household at least.
Thankfully the game can now be picked up for real cheap, one major retailer here in Australia (GAME) is selling it for $9 BRAND NEW (that's about $6-7 US~) so trying it out shouldn't be much of a risk if you haven't done so!

Guess Konami is looking to put more titles under the belt with their bit of a dry spell reciently.
Anyways do hope the game turns out decent though and with less odd bugs than the first one had in regards to data saves.
Asides from that was a pretty nice looking game that played decent.

Second, aren't they working on some other new games? When will they back into sports? I could use me some Blades of Steel 2!
