The flash game has the player controlling the Israelis, portrayed as a powerful and resourceful group overreacting to Palestinian Qassam rockets, which ineffectually swoop in the air, barely ever hitting a target. The goal of the game is to build missile silos, barracks, headquarters, and airports, using them to attack the Gaza Strip in order to kill the most Palestinians in 3 minutes. You start off with 10,000 Sheqel to spend, but can call out for aid at regular intervals to receive more cash. Bonus points are awarded for hitting police stations and hospitals. The whole affair is made even more ridiculous by the music in the background - The Carpenters' "Close To You".

I know it's supposed to be a political statement, but the whole thing leaves me feeling a bit ill. How about you folks?

But as easy as it would be to point to a game like Cunt and say “golly gosh, anyone who plays this game certainly does have more than a few bound-for-your-personal-library issues with female sexuality,” (and holy shit, is it ever), we have to take a step back and survey the landscape, so to speak. Because this game is not unique, it’s not a one-off… it represents a very real and tangible culture of hatred of women that exists within the gaming community. After all, if the developers thought no-one would play the game, they wouldn’t have made it in the first place.

I was honestly blown away by it. I really thought people would just write it off or get mad. Somehow it turned into something "punk", and was accepted by the "scene". Too bad the gameplay was lacking. If I knew it was going to get such a positive response I would have designed something more innovative and new for the gameplay.

The reception Cunt got amongst gamers shows how accepted, established, and insidious misogyny is in gaming culture. Cunt is not an isolated case.

Of course there are plenty of (male, heterosexual) gamers who aren't gynophobic misogynists, and there are plenty of misogynists running around who have never picked up a game (never mind Cunt in their life); but there is a pervasive bit of sexism that runs around the community that can be extremely off putting on a number of levels. The fact that so many conversations about issues like these devolve into name-calling and hateful bullshit almost immediately doesn't help matters.

In honor of Halloween, "everything by everyone" website NewGrounds held an art contest. The rules were simple, draw your favorite video game character as a zombie. They ran it for a month and received so many sick submissions that they actually expanded the amount of winners and prizes. I saw zombie Chun-Li with her zombie nipples showing and zombie Lara Croft licking her own zombie nipples stripper style. And these weren't even the winners!

There were two first prizes: The first went to Deks for his truly terrifying zombie Pikachu while the other went to Steven-M for his Zombie Mario. Other winners included a zombie Sam Fisher, the entire zombie cast of Chrono Cross and zombie Sonic, zombie Knuckles and zombie Doctor Robotnik fighting MegaMan a la Army of Darkness.

No one's is going to argue that Night Trap was a good game. Far from it. But it was fun and enjoyable in a "its so bad its good" kind of way. Or a "I like looking at nubile teens in negligee" kind of way. Or maybe a "I am so sick of playing Kriss Kross: Make My Video on my Sega CD" kind of way.

Therefore, I'm not going to actually suggest you spend much time PLAYING this Flash "remake" of the FMV excuse to see Kimberly Drummond bend over for the camera, exposing her bony B-cups. It did, after all, crash my browser.

However, this is a startlingly high production value Flash game...err interactive movie, and seeing a anthropomorphic taco sporting a cleavage creating tube top may just make it worth the 30-second download. Michael McWhertor

Luckily, there's a game for you. Murloc RPG lets you step into the fins of one of World of Warcraft's little blue troublemakers. No quick parody, this is a fully-realized RPG with with an hour of gameplay; not bad for Flash.
