What's the point? Everyone already knows there's violence in the middle east. It isn't really saying anything new. Unless anti-semitism is a message, and frankly that's one I can do without.
You people seem to forget this game is on newgrounds, the same site that hosted Vtech Shoot out. There is no message, just trying to be shocking and offensive in order to get attention.
@Dat Ass: Normally I like newgrounds. It's not a bad site. But Tom Fulp has almost no moderation whatsoever, so a lot of times stuff like this gets up there under the guise of social commentary, but what? Tell me how this is commentary at ALL. It's not commenting, it's just pointing out something that's already obvious.
Poor taste is a subjective opinion. For example one might think that its in poor taste to report on an obscure flash game sarcastically commenting on a real life problem. Some might think its also highly ironic.
Sadly, this is the sad state of the West Bank situation that the US continues to avoid. It should make you feel ill. Just thinking about the situation should.
@Klaymen: 6000 "rockets" that did zero damage versus sixty years of torture, massacres, and ethnic cleansing?
You know as well as I do that the solution is simple. Equality and justice for everyone, regardless of ethnicity. You also know that the Israeli government will never accept such a solution -- they prefer The Final Solution.
@ZinkO: Tekken a dump: ~7650 rockets/mortars as of Nov. 2008... this according to an editorial I read earlier today, but who knows. Western media is rather heavily biased in favour of Israel.
It's far too easy to criticize two nations (term used loosely) halfway across the globe from many of us. I think I'll stay out of this one.
@SmilingPolitely: I don't know what western media you are referring to. US media is moderately pro-Israel, but European press is often so biased that it's anti-semitism is apparent.
Don't get me wrong:
1. All Euro press is not the same, I know this.
2. Criticism of Israel and their policies isn't anti-semitic.
3. There is a lot of blame to go around.
It's just when I see the average French and British papers on the conflict, it makes me sick how biased they can be and how low their standards of journalism is when the stories conform to editorial bias.
@LedRush: I suppose I should've said North American. Canada typically follows whatever the hell the US is doing (or very quietly objects), and I don't follow Euro news.
As for US media being "moderately pro-Israel," perhaps what Fizgot said applies: maybe I'm the one living in a bubble. From what I've seen US media is certainly more favourable to Israel. *shrug*
Well, Mike, you summed it up quite nicely - it's a political statement. Therefore, it doesn't make me feel ill one bit. Some things have to be expressed the way they really are.
what's the purpose of this? is there an axe to grind, a bias inherent? is it merely sensationalism? if anything, couldn't it have waited? moreover, who plays these sort of games and why? does the fact that this conflict is occurring right now, and that the "airstrike" they just called in might have really killed 20 people, factor into their decision to play?
call me a bleeding heart.. like the Columbine shooter, i can't laugh these games off. it takes a certain kind of heartlessness to create this game while the blood is fresh on the ground.
@geekgrrl:i can understand your point, and i do mourn for the casualties. but this is a rather astute approximation and satire of the situation. Israel, despite being a very small nation, has the economic and military resources to cause violence and death on massive levels with full US support. it's david v. goliath, and david doesn't win.
@3inst3in is all up in your relativistics.: Well I agree it is excessive force but don't forget who went and rattled the hornets nest. The "resistance" there shouldn't live amongst the people because whether they like it or not, they're using their own people as shields when they hide amongst them. The history in that part of the world is deep and so is the hate. The whole thing is just to sad.
@-DontPanic-: More like poor playing by Fahey to only amass 60 Palestinian deaths after two minutes. I nailed 631 over the course of the three minutes. That's worthy of an achievement I'd think. :p

What's the casualty count now? 400 to 2?

Those witty political analysts of New Grounds, what WILL they come up with next?

Zero damage?? Are you daft?

I wonder how many realize how many Qassams and assorted explosives Hamas has dropped in Israel? It's a lot.
