Glad that he can put a positive spin on it. But I for one go through a negative feedback loop.
Loop goes something like this:
wake up, shove glasses on floor - get toothpaste on shirt - mismatch socks - hot humid day, entire body itches - annoying people - more annoying people - boring work - traffic - car trouble - noisy neighbors - everything that can go wrong goes wrong - suck at game - break something - more bad stuff - go to sleep unfulfilled - rinse, repeat.

The man has a point. When I lose, it makes me strive to win. Take this week for example, I've been going up against a friend nearly every day in SupCom: FA and he's beaten me 9/10. Now, I could have called it quits and admitted defeat but my loss spurred me on to practice different build orders and strategies and today I won....then lost....and lost again.
Don't ragequit kids! Learn from your mistakes and come back stronger - this applies to just about anything that requires any semblance of skill. #nba
@-MasterDex-:
To quote from Batman Begins "Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up."
Something that bugs me about this "everyone's a winner! Nobody loses!" mentality drummed into kids is that it offers no scope for improvement.
My friend dominated me in Street Fighter on the weekend by using Blanka and flowcharting. Instead of getting pissed off and not playing, I learned what I was doing wrong, stopped doing it and improved.
It's like when I was at school. Everyone always told me I was smart, and I managed o get by without doing any work so I believed them. Now I have severe motivational issues when it comes to trying to learn in a typical school (or college) environment and I've become an autodidact to compensate.
The only problem with being an autodidact is that most of the time your teacher is an idiot who knows nothing about the subject.
I sort of yell at my controller when losing, it just whimpers for a minute before coincidentally losing it's power.
I sort of that take built up aggression and use it on my girlfriend, sadly she doesn't lose her power at ALL and I'm the one left whimpering before closing my eyes to indicate "losing power".
I'll just put cellophane over his pool and after he throws it *in* the pool, I'll run out from behind the bushes and steal it. With the kind of money he makes, it's like us throwing a nickel in a wishing fountain at the mall. #nba
And yet, they have "10th anniversary" splashed all over the boxes. Is basic math a problem for basketball players? Or did somebody drop the ball in marketing last year and they're hoping nobody will notice this year? #nba2k10
@badass.geek:
No, that's one of the villains. Er, one of the bad-guy villains, that is. Um...one of the bad-guy villain criminals, I should say. (I think that eliminates pretty much everyone other than him and Johnny's nemesis, right?) And his character has a less than perfect grasp of the finer points of the English language. #nba2k10
In west Philadelphia, born and raised
On the Playstation was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool
And all shootin' some b-ball with friends from school
When a couple of publishers were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
They got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're goin'outside to play in the fresh air'
I went out to a court but when I got near
I saw the markings were worn and there was no gear
If anything I can say this can't compare
To my b-ball game. 'Yeah. I'm going back there'
I walked up to my house it was getting late
And I yelled to my mom 'Yo, why such a hater?'
I got to my room
And she was there
Sitting on my throne playing WarioWare
As with most savvy gamers, i've been in the scene long enough to take these stories with a grain of salt. This is dick-measuring 101 and while i find the conduct of both corporational speakers unnecassarily childish, it does light the spark of competition.
If it leads to innovative design decisions, revamps and additional tweaks, the games are all the more richer for it. Sadly, this playground mentality offers nothing more than insight in the severe lacking of diplomacy, in this business.
I don't know if this is a purely "western" thing but i find it laughable that grown men in freshly pressed suits, roll op their sleeves one afternoon for a yellow snowball fight. Truly a sad sight to behold.
How does it make you feel when you report on these matters, Owen? #nba2k10
@Karlott: I would like to direct this to the distinguished members of the panel: You lousy cork-soakers. You have violated my farging rights. Dis somanumbutching country was founded so that the liberties of common patriotic citizens like me could not be taken away by a bunch of fargin' iceholes... like yourselves. #nba2k10
The last Live that was better than 2K was in 2004. I picked up 2k10 this year, as always, and am now wondering, post-patch, whether Live is actually better. 2K10 plays like it's stuck in fucking molasses, and the online on PSN is, in my experience, fucking broken. Also, if it's actually 720p, I'd be pretty surprised, because it's jaggy as all hell. It's also laggy as shit (during singleplayer) and you end up tapping a button more than once to try and do what you want to happen, only it somehow stacks these button presses and you end up doing the thing as many times as you pressed the button, but with a huge delay. It's goddamned awful. The controls are so slow and unresponsive, it's like playing basketball fucking underwater. #nba2k10
@Strangelove: That's the good thing about EA and Madden. You never have to wonder if the glitchy piece of crap you're playing is worse than the other glitchy piece of crap you should have bought. #nba2k10
