Nothing will chip off the massive player base WoW has!

@Ramses Sanchez: Free Realms has reached 3 million users in 2 months.

WoW can only last for so long, nothing is forever.

@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Good point. But Free Realms is for a tween audience imo. I'm talking about a game that targets the same demographic that WoW does.

@Ramses Sanchez: Even the guys at penny arcade have found it to be enjoyable.

Its not that they're aiming for tweens, they're aiming for being approachable to everyone.

Which it is, even I've enjoyed it a bit and I'm 20.

For some reason I thought this would be an MMO I'd finally enjoy.

I don't understand why it received good reviews when its just another cut and paste MMO with a couple of different features along with the stylings of the Warhammer universe.

Now I'm left wondering why I bother wasting my money on MMOs anyway.

@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Hey it's every MMO ever except Phantasy Star Online.

PSO is the only MMO worth anything anyway.

@jacobgermain: I've lost count of how many times I've gone back to that game.

Its just fun. The bosses are simple the most interesting I can think of in an MMO. Dodging their attack patterns and doing stuff like using a bazooka on De Rol Le.

Its too bad theres nothing quite like that anymore.

@Frologic: To be totally honest.. this game eats up 15min at most. Other than that you can slip in and out of the game at anytime. none of the wasting hours to find a party or wasting time grinding the same monster to get a 1% chance drop for a quest. This game is actually less time consuming per session than warcraft 3 sometimes.

To be totally honest again... I work full time, live with my gf, and eat out everyday. If I have time to get to 40... when I couldn't even hit 70 in wow or 75 in ffxi... that means alot. Playing games like DOTA could take over an hour a session depending. with WAR you choose your commitment... the only time WAR tells you anything is with scenarios and their 15 min set time.

I just think you may be confusing WAR for another MMORPG that requires raid times etc. I give Mythic credit that they did make a very casual but fun game.

@Seventh: I would like to think this is the case, but I'm still skeptical. They said that they've eliminated a great deal of the boring bits (the waiting around, the grind etc.). They said that I can level with straight PVP if I wanted to but I'd have to take a look to see if it's still a slow level process.

MMO's are just such a time sink. I'd like to think that WAR is different, but I dunno.

This promotion alone makes me want to play this game.

    Good show, WAR, good show.
