    That actually sounds pretty nifty! I feel that their simple milking the franchise too fast. How many games now already? MySims, MySims Kingdom, MySims Party, MySims Racing and MySims Agents.

    At least this seems somewhat original- it's a far better idea than say another mini-game collection, a racing game, or MySims Fitness...wait, wait hold on. That's a good idea, that's a really good idea. If that horrid Jillian Michaels game can sell hundreds of copies, think of the possibilities!

    Isn't Mario Kart Wii what Mario Kart Wii should be? That is the most confusing headline I've read at Kotaku. Esp. considering the article it's heading doesn't seem to compare Mario Kart Wii to MySims Racing negatively, outside of a comment about Mario Kart 64 (I read this article thoroughly to try and make sense of the headline before posting, and that's all I could find).


    Didn't Mario Kart Wii generally get really good reviews, doesn't it remain a bestseller that has yet to be discounted in price and isn't it one of the few games on the Wii hardcore and casual gamers alike enjoy? Is there anything backing up the headline, or is it just a personal preference of the author? I was under the impression that the only "mixed" reviews a Mario Kart game has gotten on a major console was the GameCube version of the game (Double Dash).

    "Who Just Shot At Me?: There are so many Sims on the racing track at one time that's it's hard to tell who just shot you with whatever "power up""


    Why would anyone be so concerned with who shot who? You want frenetic pace but you complain about this?

    What's with all the Mario Kart Wii hate? The only significant changes I can think of is that they got rid of snaking (thank God), they added bikes (which are pretty cheap :\), and added excellent online support.


    And the rubberbanding and ridiculous AI has always been a part of Mario Kart. That's nothing new.

    @bfwings55: I actually enjoyed Mario Kart Wii a great deal. Best experience I had with the series since Super Mario Kart (never played the GBA one beyond a few minutes, though I have played the rest).

    Nintendo broke the game with too-powerful powerups. They took most of the skill out of the game so that now a 4 year old has a good chance of beating a long time Mario kart veteran.


    Now that theres soo many characters onm the track someone is always getting the blue shell or other game breaking powerups.


    I'm glad that they got rid of snaking, but there needs to be a way to turn off some of the powerups in online.


    When hanging back in 3rd or 4th place until the last half of the last lap becomes the best strategy to 'win', then you know theres a problem with your games balance.

    @Castrum: Agreed. The only version that's hands down better than the Wii version IMO is Mario Kart DS. Mario Kart64 is good but snaking and the cheats killed that. MK DS is such a blast (moreso than 64) that snaking didn't render it a chore like it did the 64 version. plus the DS version looks better than the 64 version and runs at 60 frames per second with online support.

    As far as the strategy of "hanging back" to win in Mario Kart Wii. That's not always a sure shot to victory. Actually, playing with skilled players, that could cause you to lose horribly in the last places of a race.

    @NightMystic: I didn't really dig Mario Kart Wii at all; I'd probably enjoy a Double Dash Wiimake more. Though, I think the "Who Just Shot Me?" point is the most important one of them all. It was what essentially defined these cartoony, battling racers.


    There was always one character who you thought had a vendetta against you, and ruining them was part of the fun.
