Ten Years Ago: Lionhead's Peter Molyneux, Demis Hassabis

Firstly in the 'Ten Years Ago' series looking at old game interviews, we checked Valve's Marc Laidlaw, and after that we tried 3D Realms' Scott Miller.

Thus, our third instalment of 'how did their predictions turn out, ten years later' picks out Lionhead's Peter Molyneux and Demis Hassabis, from an interview originally conducted by me in 1998 for Videogamedesign.com. What did they say? Does it still make sense, almost a decade later? Time to find out...

In Stores: Black & White 2

A Peter Molyneux game that isn't being released amidst a swirl of broken promises and fanfare? Quite. Black & White 2 crept up out of nowhere. Black & White 2 may hit shelves quietly, but it's definitely worth checking out.

Black & White Three through Five?

1Up's Jane Pinckard recently interviewed famed developer and braggart Peter Molyneux about his future plans. The man behind Fable mentioned that he still plans to develop three more Black & White titles. Each game will be set a thousand year's apart in the franchise' history with number five taking place in modern time. Judging by Molyneux's past experience at predicting the details of his own games, there will be one more B&W and it will take place about two years after number two and won't be released until 2050.
