The co-op in Fable 2 is so terrible I can't find a reason to play it over the far superior single player experience of Fallout 3. If they had just gotten co-op right, I would have bought Fable 2 instead.
I think I spent more time admiring how gorgeous the landscape is than actually playing the game. And the music... God, the music! To me, it was exactly what Molyneux said it would be.
I also got way more entertainment value out of it by banging every (female) hooker in Bloodstone. Wee!
i havent passed fable 2 yet, but i have also been doing all the side qUESTS as for the glitch, thank god i havent come across it yet...since i am doing it as a good guy, i can play it again and be as evil as i want :D, and if i have the time i will also do a hero thats neutral to good and evil :D
I'm playing a couple of characters concurrently, and I'm loving the hell out of the game on every one of them. It definitely feels like a game where they had a ten mile list of things they wanted and had to stop when time ran out. Yes, I'm sure you can exploit the hell out of it if you want, but if you let that ruin your enjoyment of the game then it's more your fault than it's. Frankly, the people who say shit like "I owned everything in the world and did everything in X hours" are the types of people I wouldn't let touch the game.
Ok, I agree that the game can be extended for a number of hours, but the main story line is so muddied by side quests.
There is the one, Goonies-esque side quest where you go to the treasure island. I loved the side quest, but it had no relation to the main game. I'm just doing this because I'm a hero and I can? Even owning homes and marrying doesn't really tie into the game that well. You are a hero, and you need to have a domestic life while you are away?
I know that this is standard RPG fare, but so many RPGs have epic story lines and the side quests are there for additional playtime. Arguing that game's length includes side quests isn't really fair to other RPGs.
i wanna hear non domestic developers talk about games.. I want hideo kojima to talk about fable 2. Dude huge should tell me what he thinks about resistance, those guys at the blue moon show (insomniac's) should give me a run down of gears. to be blunt and specific, listening to a developer blabber on about his own game, and have the selfishness to call it amazing and good every chance he gets.. well its retarded.. it is conceptually retarded and faggotouse in practice.. i rather have someone who does not benefit from selling the game to give me an honest opinion of what my 60 dollars are (possibly) contributing to.
I would warn anyone looking to buy Fable II to wait until they patch it up. There are some brutal game ruining bugs. I've had 2 games ruined (~30 hours of gameplay down the tubes).
There's a lot of great things that Fable II really nailed this time around, and overall I like the game a lot. But unfortunately, there are a *lot* of glitches, and some of the ones involving your family really ruin a lot of that experience for you, which is a terrible shame.
So wait...they had people complaining that Fable 1 wasn't free roaming, but they didn't make Fable 2 free roaming? I thought they said they learned something?
