Just hope the racing gameplay aspect is fun and has a nice feel. The only reason I got tired of Mario Kart is that I got bored with the tracks. Majorly looking forward to this!
The E3 demonstration I saw didn't leave me too impressed. The character and car customization seemed on point but the track design seemed like it was just allowing you to slap different coats of paint and static non functioning objects onto a generic winding track.
They need to up the ante on customizable game rules, like maybe demolition derby and drift modes. Or even a straight up battle mode like Twisted Metal (even Mario Kart had that).
So far they just keep showing a generic race mode and there's not much replayability in that if you are restricted to generic track runs.
@-MasterDex-: You mean that Sony is pushing game creating games hoping that it'll take off on consoles and that they'll be the biggest destination for users that want game making games.
Here's to hoping Level 5 creates Dark Cloud: Steam Clock Universe Tock.
I wish they would let you download the online levels in the background to play later. I find most of the time the servers are too slow to play levels being shared by others. I believe I've played less than 10 levels since launch.
I wish they would release more official level packs too.
@Polite Society - Being Polite, Socially.: I've played easily over 1000 user created levels since launch. I have very rarely ever had to wait more than 20 seconds to load a level. And my internet connection sucks ass.
Hmm...Its a Sony news thread and I don't see any 360 fanboys posting how stupid a re-release of a game thats less than a year old is and how Sony is a money grubbing evil empire.
@Vecha: Tired of America's Solution to Health Care.: No my point was actually related to the 360 articles posted earlier that were close to 90% PS3 owners complaining about one thing or another related to the 360.
Their defense was that PS3 threads have 360 fanboys complaining in them too. Which isn't the case at all.
So PS3 fanboys aren't the same as 360 fanboys? WTF is this some new kind of elitism? Sorry they are all the same the only thing that differs is their console of choice.
@Kakuki: Yeah...it seems most PS3 fanboys have more time on their hands and are a lot more bitchy. At least the Kotaku commenters. I invite you to comb the threads. The proof is there. 360 fanboys don't give a shit about Sony news. PS3 fanboys are attracted to Microsoft news like sharks to blood.
I think its because we're happier, but I'm sure you have different ideas...
@billysan: It's just a shame you can't put the paintball gun on your sackboy as an accessory, but it's instead tied to the level.
After getting frustrated too many times in a row I gave up on LBP. It's a shame really, but at the same time I don't miss it at all and rather jump into BF1943 which I'm getting bored with.
I loved the Metal Gear Solid level I would love to see new levels with sony only properties like Infamous, Killzone 2, Drake's Uncharted, God of War. Anything like that would be fun.
I really like LBP, until i have to play it, upon which i find it kind of samey and not very fun. to watch, beautiful, to admire sublime to battle those druggy sack movements and to get stuck in scenery, frustrating as ****.
So i love LBP, but I hate it. anyone feel the same?
@oskarkeo: I'd be the first to criticize a platformer based on bad movement physics (jumping, etc). But I have no issue with LBP. Does it play exactly like Mario? Nope. Should it? Nope. LBP is its own game.
Actually in parts i thought it felt really mario, and i liked that. But overall the platforming kind of feels unnescessary to me. LBP's charm is in everything else.
@FP_slomo788: yeah playing that stage is akin to getting kicked in the groin by a football jock wearing cleats, running at full force. yes that kind of pain.
@FP_slomo788: Yeah... recalling that wheel makes me grind my teeth and breath heavily whilst furrowing my brow.
I'd regard it as the single most difficult mandatory section of the default levels... and has, on numerous occasions, ruined my attempts to have a perfect run through the level (completing without dying). RAGE!

It's a decent value though but the only DLC packs that are really interesting is the 2 MGS packs.
