    I haven't encountered that cheat much in MP gameplay for some reason. Still, I'm glad IW plans on patching it. So far we had more support on this game on PS3 than the first. (COD4: MW)

    The thing is that among those numbers are any number of actual soldiers playing the game... so actually we do have a trained army within our army of willing conscripts...

    would that make those actual trained vets and soliders turncoats?

    I'm still amazed at how broken MW2's multiplayer ended up being - bad netcode, terrible spawning, people taking advantage of numerous exploits, the game's got it all.

    A fairly enjoyable single-player campaign and a handful of Spec-Ops missions can only go so far when the bulk of the game is multiplayer.

    @Pyrefly: Yeah, I don't want to point fingers and maybe it's just coincidence. Since the time kotaku posted the article on the exploit I saw a dramatic increase on the people using the glitch a few hours later. Again could be just coincidence.

    With that said, It's still a fun multiplayer minus the glitch.

    Here's a fun little experiment: go to Google, and search for "modern warfare 2 javelin" with or without quotes. Heck, I'll make it easy for you.

    By my count, there's at least three videos on the front page of search results. That doesn't even begin to cover all of the times one of the gaming blogs wrote about it, or the story's been submitted to social networking sites, or people have talked about it in-game, or [insert scenario here].

    It's not a secret anymore. Anyone with half a brain who wants to do it can figure out how to within five minutes. Kotaku isn't making the situation worse, because it can't GET worse.

    @spiderweb1986: Stupid argument. They can be 'comprehensive' and report on it without showing how it's done. I guess every news story about an IED that doesn't tell you how to build an IED isn't comprehensive?

    Honestly I didn't give a shit about learning how to do it, but I learned, just by looking at the damned article.

    It's already popping up in matches regularly, maybe even in most matches. Kotaku already ran two stories about it, including this one that also had a link to the video. The video has been viewed ~340,000 times in less than a week, and that's just one video.

    Like I said, this is already a bad situation, and I really don't think it's going to get noticeably worse if Kotaku links to the video instead of just writing an article about it.

    This glitch is annoying as hell - especially combined with Dual shotguns. It's completely sucking the fun out of matchmaking for me.

    There's not point trying to have a fun, proper game when you've got one douchebag spoiling it for everyone involved.

    @Ursus-Veritas: Dual shotguns completely ruin the realism. I've had no first hand experience with firearms but I could hazard a guess that firing a shotgun in one hand would be a very bad idea, and 2 at the same time an even worse one.

    @TVs_Frank: Yes, because turning your back on them totally won't cause them to pull out a weapon and shoot you (or just run up and knife you).

    It's kinda part of the thing, if I'm getting this partially right. They can STILL kill you. The only way to avoid it is to just start a sprint chase until somebody shoots either you (and you die) or the guy (and he explodes, and than you die).

    @G_A: You're really not getting this, are you?

    If he's doing this glitch, he's sprinting for knife attacks at ALL times. You can not PUT distance between you and the other player in any significant fashion, you can only maintain distance, and when you stop to shoot he WILL gain distance on you. The distance, as I understand it, is something like 30-40 feet death, so it has to be pretty freaking distant to kill anyone. And in madly sprinting, you're making yourself attractive to any other target.

    It isn't that cut and dry. In some special situations you can cap them, but more often than not, the best you can manage is a 1:1 out of this. It's pretty freaking annoying: In fact, it's so unbalanced that they're PATCHING IT OUT COMPLETELY.

    I've barely even played the game (I didn't find enough to like about it, and the exploits weren't even prevalent than, Double-shotgun hilarity aside), and I understand why this is kind of crap.

    @PoweredByHentai: Nothing to report over here, I've not seen anyone doing it on PS3. It's funny how all the people complaining about people doing it are 360 players, and the 360 is where people are getting banned. However, Live also has a lot more noobish children on it than I've noticed on PS3 and that could explain it.

    @qwerty613: Yeah, that seems to be the consensus at the moment (about no one from the PS3 camp complaining). As for the Live experience being full of kids... that's debatable and I can't say that I've enjoyed it from what little I've sampled of it.

    Microsoft had a good idea with pushing for the adoption of the headset, but that alone brings it a massive amount of headaches. I was in Hong Kong when I tried playing Halo 3 on my friend's XBL account. I have no friggin' clue how the hell he could put up with all the incessant shouting and cussing on XBL. I mean, I've had gaming marathons where we played Zaft vs Federation on the PS3 and those were pretty exciting with very tolerable noise levels.

    XBL was like, one bad concert after another. *cringes*

    @PoweredByHentai: I've gotten in one or two games where people are doing it and it was annoying as hell. I've only encountered a few people doing the glitch and I was getting annoyed. I would not be too happy if I was a 360 owner and more of the community was doing this. On the PS3 version, it's easy to leave a game where people are using this glitch and find a new one. I'm not so sure if everyone can say that about the 360 version right now, which is a shame.

    @PoweredByHentai: Here's what I think would help: make it required to pass a maturity test to get a headset. They would put you in a room with hidden microphones (so they could hear you) and have you play an online match. They'd judge you based on how many swear words you used, in what context, etc. If you pass, you get a mic, and if they find you abusing the power online you get banned. Also, those whose voices haven't changed are ineligible. I know this is completely unrealistic, but it would make online experiences much more enjoyable. I'd even be willing to pay money to pay for the screener's salaries if it meant I got a more enjoyable experience.

    @qwerty613: If I had my way with requiring people to pass a maturity test, I'd force them to take a test that exams their aptitude for having kids. If they fail that, then they really shouldn't be having kids at that point in time. They're free to challenge the test again, but they'll still be required to pass it before they're allowed to have kids.

    That way, it should at least filter out people who aren't responsible enough to either take care of their kids or can't teach responsibility to their kids or both.

    @lenandude: My entire family all the way to great grandparents served in my countries military. I was the first not to do so and the frist to go to college. My favourite book of all time is "The Art of War" by Sun Tsu. My entire childhood was based around the concept that one day I would join the military. I didn't, mandatory service stopped a few years ago in Portugal. So no, lenan, I would no run home due to the possible misplaced sense of honour and duty passed on by my grand parents mostly. Fear? Ask any real life soldier and they will tell you they are scared every time a shot gets fired their way. It's what brings them home alive. Also, this is a quote from COD4 "War is delightful to those who have not yet experienced it." - Erasmus.

    @Shiryu: I know. I just hate war. Would never join. I don't feel like putting my life in danger for my country is worth it. Thats not insulting the people who do. They have their reasons for doing it and thats their decision. But I don't want to. I can understand not running home because of your grandparents. That makes sense. I like playing war video games and watching war movies, but those are just movies and games. The idea of real war is not delightful to me.

    @lenandude: Indeed, it was JFK who once said "Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end on mankind". howeverm we as a spoecies seem to be really good at it. Far from me to advocate war, especially because my country was responsible for the conquering of over half the planet during the early centuries of seafare. I would not go to war to conquer other nations. I would go to War to defend my country, my home, my family, my friends. It is truly a shame people just don't understand we are all the same and we only have this little planet to live in. Hopefully, we will wake up while there is still time to do so.

    I'd much rather have their Space Neon Lobster shirt, slashed from $2,000 to $20! With savings like that, you'd be a fool to miss out!

    With 8 million (so far) potential DLC customers, I expect more this time around then a single measly map pack.

    Map packs are alright but what I really want is more guns and perks in my DLCs. I understand that could make an ufair proposition for non-buyers, so make the guns/perks updates free.

    But don't just offer new maps.
