Red Sonja would snap any of them in half -- including that dude in #1.
If you're going to include women with swords, at least pick a woman with enough muscle mass to hold the sword ... or, hell, enough body mass not to fall over while holding it. #ultima
One thing I believe to be an issue here is the language barrier. This game is completely in Japanese and as such the situation is completely up to personal interpretation for those who do not comprehend the language.
Is she being attacked? A tender scene with a boyfriend? An offer to be a practice examination for a med student? The result of tripping and falling?
If the author took the time to include an english translation, or looked for a japanese to english translator we could point out how outlandish people are making this scene out to be.
Got to chuckle at all the posts outraged by this supposed stifling of new game IPs by evil MS execs - and also BA's sympathetic slant on the article.
Get real guys, one cursory glance at the image rings alarm bells, even if it is taken out of context looks dodgy as hell.
I'm aware this kind of stuff is popular in the Japan adult games market, , but I can fully understand Microsoft not wanting to be seen condoning what looks to the casual bystander as some kind of underage hentai rapefest. I'm sure Sony and Nintendo would repsond in the same manner.
@Fidjit: Honestly if you are making that judgment by the one screen of the game being shown, perhaps you should speak to a counselor.
The screen shot shows a girl being loosely held down by one arm. Hardly an overly aggressive gesture. It appears to me to at first glance to be a scene of intimacy, perhaps surprising feelings or emotional epiphany. I have seen very similar scenes in anime and even AMERICAN television shows, not one had the girl being raped afterward.
Yes you can see her underwear, but a bit of fan service is hardly an indicator of a rape fest.
And even at first glance it DID look like underage hentai, is that a reason to ban it? What if the cover of a book was that same image? Would Barnes and Noble Ban it even if the publisher offered to alter it?
Even if it was an erotic novel about a girl getting raped they wouldn't.
This is obviously about someone at Microsoft Europe overreacting and demanding that we all do the same.
A little more context would be helpful. It's easy to see from the picture why this is controversial, but what exactly is going on in the game at the point where this imagery is shown? Is this a sexual assault, or is it something else? No one seems to be answering this question.
This is utterly stupid, and may kill the 360 Indie community if this becomes common place.
Not saying this exact kind of thing, more if censorship and control like this turn up more often, then the developers are going to turn their nose up at it, and stick to PC.
I mean, I assume part of the reason they started Indie development was about Freedom. Confine them too much, and they're going to walk out of the 360 cage and back into the Wild of other platforms, like PC.
This example is also seriously stupid, and microsoft have been entirely unreasonable about it to make matters worse. I see no problem with the above issue at All, or at least, that wouldn't be solved by, say, adding a proper age restriction to the indie games.
Not to mention Most People In Europe won't even go Near playing the game, As they Can't Read It! I mean, what Vandictive Bastard of an Idiot even Found this and Reported it?
If they keep this up, they're going to be scaring Idie Developers away, and the service will dry up and become entirely the utterly poor rubbish that consists of a lot of the stuff.
This is a Stupid mistake Microsoft are making, and I Hope they fix it.
@PaxtonAstypalaea-Prime: You Write like one of our Forefathers who put Pen to paper to Create the Constitution. They Liked to capitalize Words in odd Places.
It's used to add Emphasis, as having to put in the Italic flag and unflag is more Bothersome than holding down the Shift key.

It's horrible...HORRIBLE PShop work, the proportions are like balls, with number 3, 4 and 5 taking the cake.
This is nightmare fuel. Thanks Kotaku. #ultima
