From what I understand a number of active duty military personnel enjoy playing CoD4. I imagine it would be less than enjoyable for someone with PTSD, but I don't think it is in bad taste to play CoD4. The GI Joe's would probably wreck shop on the "Pro's."

Does driving the Guitar hero race car make you good at guitar hero? I am a bit confused on that one. Perhaps it is just fun to say you played against someone famous.

This is a cool way to support the troops though. Good on them!

@ankhenaten: As someone who's been in the Army for a while now, in my experience military themed games are huge among servicemembers, especially shooters like CoD4.

When you're downrange with no beer, girlfriend, decent television or family with videogame sessions with your buddies and trips to the gym are your two main pastimes.

Also great to see Addie and the rest of the PvGIJ team getting more recognition. I met her in in Iraq years ago, and have been following their work with this project for a while now. It's great to see big companies like Activision finally getting on board and helping out.

Now what would being athletic have to do with playing games (sans Wiifit)?

It would be cool to see them go through an obstacle course or see how well the pros do in training drills.

Still, a good way to give back I suppose. They could do more, but I suppose they could do less.

A friend of mine is a marine who regularly plays CoD4. In fact, he is part of the [USMC] group, which is is large enough that I see them almost once a day.

@Malfunktion v2: Yeah, I see them online often! I sometimes wonder how many of them are actual Marines and how many aren't - maybe they just like the Marines enough to use a clan tag to support them.
