I never did beat Mike in Punch-Out. He was a bigger pain in the ass than Ghosts 'n' Goblins (or was it Ghouls 'n' Ghosts? God, I don't know anymore). #video
@Outkastprince: I should try him again now that the creator revealed there's more visual cues hidden in camera flashes etc. But I fear the last 12 years or so of ridiculously easy games that my skills aren't up to snuff. The challenge in gaming feels like it died when the 3D generation was born. #video
@TVs_Frank: That's why I didn't bother, since the majority of those claiming they beat Tyson are the same ones youtubing the heck out of game for secrets. #video
@Outkastprince: You guys have got to be kidding me! Tyson was definitely beatable. Once you got his patterns down he isn't all that difficult. That said, it took me many many tries when I was child.
Basically, the Tyson in Punch Out is kind of like Tyson in real life. If you can get past the early rounds Tyson gets tired enough for you to fight back.
The first minute or so of the first round in the game, he throws nothing but power punches that instantly knock you down. Just dodge them. Get past that point, survive to the second round and you'll get him.... eventually. #video
@Karlott: Seriously, having a celebratory moment like that is well deserved! NES games generally weren't easy and Mike Tyson's Punch Out is no exception.
I remember the first (and only) time I played all the way through Capcom's 1942 on NES. It was bittersweet. I was happy to have finally conquered it, but was angered and disgusted by the ending.
[spoiler]
For those who don't know, Capcom was nice enough to reward the victor for the seemingly endless hours of shmup action with a single word:
"Congratulatons!"
Then you start over.
And people today complain about spending $50-$60 on a game? Ha!
I love Tyson, but the man has been in his own little world for years. The prison time and rape charge could have been forgotten, but he had to go and lose his mind in the ear and start biting.
For that, he deserves every thing he gets, always.
@Captain McNinja: "I don't normally interview with women unless I foinicate them foist. So you need to stop talking. Unless...you know..." - Mike Tyson
Sure, if you boil it down to the basic elements of most games, it's the same basics (Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask are a couple of exceptions). But you can't seriously say it's the same story every time if you've actually played the games, or at least read the stories.
If you're going to troll, try something more original and less obvious.
I'm going to have to call bullshit on this. The cut scene graphics/ animation are just a little too good for NES era and the alien with the beer would of never made it into a NES game.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
