A Spartan with a blue helmet, a Spartan with a blue helmet and a slightly different gun...it's a nickel and dime show.

If only you could just buy one figure, and customise it yourself...oh, like you can with this new "Halo Rogue Deluxe Armour Pack", the toy manufacturer obviously having been informed by Pantone that there aren't any more colours left to paint the same Spartan with.

It's a "blank" figure, which comes with a variety of weapon and armour configurations for you to play dress-ups with, including all the important Hayabusa gear, and should be out around March.

<![CDATA[WoW's Pandaren Get The Action Figure Treatment]]> From April Fools joke to cult hero, World of Warcraft's Pandaren have come a long, long way. Now, they can go a little further, and join you slobbing it at your desk.

For a limited time, Blizzard will be selling action figures of their most special fat panda, Chen Stormstout. They'll be $50, and available only from Blizzard's online store, so if this kind of thing sets your commercial klaxons sounding, best be snappy.

<![CDATA[New King Of Fighters Figure Bares (Almost) All]]> Need something to wash the taste of that movie trailer out of your mouths, KoF fans? How about this new Vanessa figure. Yes, Vanessa. Not Mai. Vanessa. Who seems to have lost all her buttons.

This figure, by A-Label, will be out next year in Japan. It stands at around 30cm high, and you should be able to import it for around USD$80-90. You want buttons, you gotta buy them yourself, so that's extra.

<![CDATA[WoW Cosplay Goes The Extra Mile With Official Uniforms, Weapons]]> It's World of Warcraft's fifth birthday this week, and longtime Blizzard collaborator Sideshow Collectibles are going all out. Not with statues, either. With tabards (ie the things you wear over chainmail), giant flags, and even full-size replica weapons.

There are two tabards ($80) available, one for the Horde, one for the Alliance. They'll fit a large, brave human. There are also two flags, again, one for each faction ($40). At 7m x 5m, these are bigger than a human. And there's a lifesize replica of the Frostmourne sword as well, which is selling for $150 (and is available only in the US, sorry).

All five items will be shipping early next year, so really, the only way they're tying in with the game's fifth birthday celebrations is that this is the week they're taking your money.

<![CDATA[New Figures For ODST, Halo Wars, Halo 2 & 3]]> The seventh series of McFarlane's Halo figures draws from four of the franchise's games, three of its species, numerous gaudy colours and even a little Ninja Gaiden.

Due for release in early 2010, there'll also be a weapons pack, should your diorama be lacking in duel-wielding or grenades. You'll be able to get them anywhere you can already get the previous 1,345 figures in the range.

<![CDATA[Stick Professor Layton On Your Shelf]]> With a new Layton movie due out in Japan next month, it's time to start cashing in! And there's no better way than with a line of small, neat little action figures.

These are "FuruFuru" figures, which basically means "bobblehead", only more subtle, with everyone's proportions in order. There are two available - the good Professor and Luke - and you can import them for just under $30 each.

Steep, yeah, but on the bright side they're not asking you to solve any stupid match-stick puzzles in the checkout process.

<![CDATA[For The Discerning Art Collector/Halo Fan]]> Perhaps in an effort to appeal to a more up-market clientèle than Halo merchandise currently allows, Microsoft have commissioned a series of framed prints depicting art from Halo 3: ODST.

These aren't the kind of things you'd get as a pre-order gift thrown in a cheap plastic frame. No, these are the kind of things that are limited to 100 of each, and will cost you $175.

There are three different prints, and each measures 13x19 inches.

<![CDATA[Mommy, Where Do Video Game Toys Come From?]]> There are a lot of video game toys out there. We should know. But did you ever stop to wonder, amidst all the yearning and admiration for a hunk of painted vinyl, just where it came from?

Toy importer Pop Culture Shock do, as they've published a gallery on Capcom's site showing the factory in China where SOTA's Capcom statues are put together and finished off.

Most of the shots depict SOTA's Zangief piece being assembled then painted, but you'll also see Sagat and Darkstalker's Felicia pop up as well.

Makes you wonder why they don't advertise "individually hand-painted" on the box.

<![CDATA[Nero Figure Has A Devil On His Shoulder]]> This is Yamato's Nero figure, from Devil May Cry 4. He is large, he's so far only slated for a Japanese release, and has a rather childish look of disappointment to him.

Like he asked for an ice cream, and his mother said "no".

Made by Yamato, you can import it when it's released in December for just over $100.

<![CDATA[Metal Gear Rex Figure: Big, Shiny, Enormous]]> Hong Kong-based toy company threeA will be releasing a Metal Gear Rex figure sometime next year. As you can see from these pics, the detail is incredible. As is the sheer size of the thing.

No idea on an exact release date or price, but don't expect this to be either widely-available or cheap.

<![CDATA[More Insanely-Detailed Resident Evil 5 Figures]]> Hong Kong's master toysmiths, Hot Toys, have added two more figures to their line of Resident Evil 5 12" figures: another Wesker, and another Chris Redfield, only this time in their throwback unis.

Both will be out early next year, and expect both to be on the pricey side.

<![CDATA[Bayonetta Figures Get The Figure Right]]> Play Arts, the action figure branch of Square Enix, are making some Bayonetta figures. A quick comparison between the size of the head and the size of the hips shows they're definitely on the right track.

These were on display at the Tokyo Game Show last week, though both a price and release date are TBA. There were two figures shown; Bayonetta herself, and Jeanne, below.

<![CDATA[Hello, Giant Master Chief Bust]]> Collectibles company One2One Collectibles have announced they'll be releasing a line of 1:2 scale busts from the Halo universe. That's a big bust.

First off the blocks is, of course, the Master Chief. It'll be out towards the end of the year, and being so damn huge, carries a damn huge price tag, at $225. Still, might be worth it if you sit him up on some phone books in the front seat of your car. It'll get you into the carpool lane.

<![CDATA[Team Fortress 2 Action Figures Are Credit To Creator]]> For all Valve's expertise in the software field, the studio has always lagged behind in one crucial area: merchandise. In particular, action figures, and in particular, Team Fortress 2.

Well, Half-Life as well, but people have done that. And it's "people" - not Valve - that are behind these Team Fortress 2 figures.

Sure, they're not what I'd have chosen - the game's exaggerated art style would be better-suited to vinyl figures - but that's what's called nitpicking. These are still awesome.

Click through for the creator's (Jacob Norad's) website, which has pics of more TF2 figures, including their weapons and accessories. There's even a suite of gadgets for the engineer, like a sentry gun and dispenser.

<![CDATA[A Smaller, Weirder Shadow Of The Colossus Figure]]> This is a custom Shadow of the Colossus Munny. If you could actually buy it, it'd be perfect for those people either too late, or too cheap, to get hold of Kotobukiya's larger, more official piece.

It's the attention to detail that's key here; not only does it have little ledges for the little hero to clamber upon, if he can ever get to the top there's even a little blue weak spot for him to shank with his trusty sword.

What's more, it was put together by the same guy behind that awesome Link to the Past cross-stitch from earlier in the year. Talk about multi-talented!

<![CDATA[Twice The Cammy, Twice The Thong]]> SOTA toys will in December be releasing two Cammy figures. Not one. Two. One in her original costume, one in her more "formal" uniform.

They'll be sold for $90 each if you want to buy them individually. And if you do, hey, that's cool. We're not judging. But as you can see, you might want to look at buying both, what with their bases locking together to form a Cammy sandwich.

<![CDATA[Skull Or No Skull, This Starcraft II Figure Is Adorable]]> Attendees at Blizzcon this weekend will be given a little treat for their troubles. A schwag bag. And in that schwag bag will be this little guy.

It's a delightful little Jim Raynor in full combat armour, with its "OMG limited edition value" increased by the giant "Blizz Con" logo on his shoulder plate.

Those at the event will also be able to pick up four other similar figures: Fury of Ragnaros, Ghoulash, Murloc Madness and a blank figure.

<![CDATA[Oh Goodie, Another Mother Statue]]> Camille Young's handmade, resin statues are exquisite. But she doesn't just make 'em for Mother 3 handbooks! Oh no. She makes them for previous games in the series as well.

Here's Ness. Since we used "exquisite" already, we'll have to use something else for this guy. "Delightful"? Yeah, that'll work.

<![CDATA[Darkstalkers Statue Purrs For Your $300]]> Sideshow Collectibles show no signs of easing up on their imported gaming statues, with the impending Western release of this Pop Culture Shock piece based on Darkstalker's Felicia. Obviously, your $300 isn't paying for clothing.

She'll come in two variants; a standard blue version, and a pink one that goes for an extra $20. Both will be available early next year.
