I really hate to nitpick Mike but is this really your job? Spend your whole life working for a blog?
Maybe that's okay for now, but somebody you'll be out of news and swag...then you'll have to make the call.
Not surprised to see you haven't thought it through enough. You never had the head for all that journalism stuff. But Mike that's what I do, and I plan on reading you daily!
@TaylorEatWorld: When my old band went on tour, we had just gotten into Seattle when the venue called us and canceled the show on us. We frantically starterd calling all the clubs and BEGGING for a slot so we could just have SOME kind of show that night. We ended up lying to this club that asked how many people we could draw. They put us in the opening slot for Freezepop that night hahaha... great show, too. She was really nice and the other guys were fun too.
@toxictwinkies: wait wait wait... they asked about your draw and didn't know already? IN SEATTLE
Even in Bumfuck, TN landing a gig consists of "do I know you? No. Let me call my kid at the high school {ring ring} yeah, have you heard of these guys? No? Okay. {hangs up} Get the fuck out."
@Phydeaux: haha yeah they didn't even double check. They needed a band, the show was in 2 hours, and we had enough time to get there, set up, play the show and get the hell out of the way. It was very random. The guy who booked the show turned out to be the lead singer of Himsa. we kept in touch so I'll definitely be playing up there again.
Awesome. I'll be grabbing the Freezepop, Jonathan Coulton, AFI, and 3 Doors Down tracks. It's been a long time since I've downloaded six songs in one week.
"RE: Your Brains" is going to have the most epic crowd-singalong EVER.
Also, I would recommend people check out "Opening Band". Lyrically it's a lot of fun.
Great week in terms of variety and fun. Hopefully it doesn't take another year for a third Coulton song (where's "Code Monkey" and his "Baby Got Back" cover?)
@awkner: Around the time that Rock Band 2 came out, the band posted on their blog that "All of This" (and one other song I can't recall) were going to be in Rock Band.
Of course, that was a year ago...and the blog post was actually edited to remove that reference after a few hours.
@TRT-X: Yeah, there's another song from them in RB2, called Like a Fool. And it's very, very cool, just like All of This (which still hasn't been re-released).
