    I'm sure they're able to cut a lot of corners by taking away the players ability to freely explore the universe. Of course rail shooters are going to look great...

    The fact that this may be the closest thing to a Resident Evil 2 remake we'll ever get makes me wanna play. Plus, I enjoyed Umbrella Chronicles.

    At one hand.. this looks like one of the best on rails shooters ever made.


    On the other.. this shows how good a new RE game on the Wii could look :/

    While I never played the first Chronicles title, the sequel has me interested.


    Personally, there hasn't been an on-rails shooter that has impressed me yet. Ghost Squad and House of the Dead were pretty fun but they're ports of old titles. Overkill was slightly better but


    Hopefully, Darkside Chronicles and/or Dead Space: Extraction will turn out to be the best on-rail shooter titles.

    Nothing will ever touch House of the Dead 2's greatness. Yes, it's dated as hell, but that game was crammed full of all sort of goodness. I don't think anything come close to the excellent level design, branching paths, monster placement, etc.

    I'm excited about this game too - I liked Umbrella Chronicles.


    What I really like, though, is the fact that they've made the game.. grittier? I guess? It's a little darker, more detailed, and I love the updates they've given to Claire (and Leon, I suppose - he's still an emo kid!)


    But all in all, I'm sure this'll be a great rails shooter.
