I'm not much of a comic book fan, but this development still makes me want to vomit.

Disney turns everything it touches into vapid crap. I doubt very much that Marvel will escape the effects.

@Spoony Bard: Pixar has always been Disney. Dreamworks, however, after making a few awesome titles was quickly bought by Disney and hasn't really done anything decent since... But I guess the difference is that Dreamworks was in direct competition. Provided Marvel isn't competing with anything else 'disney' then it should be okay ... hopefully.

Disney is going to have to learn to branch out some. There are Marvel titles that are not family friendly in the slightest, The Punisher, X-force and so forth. I guess this will put a damper on Deadpool too. I Just hope this isn't a sour deal for marvel fans.

Oh guys, shut up. Disney owns ABC. How much content do they have that is above PG? How about Miramax? Yeah. they own that. Those of you having an epilepsy can stop now. They're not gonna change what is worth 4 billion. Especially if they'll lose fans for it, which would lose them money. Which would make this a 4 billion dollar loss.

O God, please God, Seriously no. Just NO. In the name of all that is Holy in the world of geekdom, please GOD DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!!
Obviously, IMHO: Disney would totally FUCK UP Marvel. Goodbye, Marvel, it was nice knowing you before you sold out.

OK, after reading a few comments below I feel the need to be more clear. I am not worried about Disney taking the 'adult edge' out of Marvel. I am worried about Disney having ANY influence on Marvel. Marvel is great because everything in Marvel (writers, inkers, artists, storyboard guys, EVERYTHING) was about the characters. Marvel selling out to Disney is too close to walking away from its core values. IMO; I feel that too many people work at Disney because its a great job. I don't think anyone works for Marvel that doesn't love comics. Big diff.
