    I remember many of the "Kids games" back in the 8-bit/16 bit era (Mickey Mouse and the Castle of Illusion, Rescue Rangers, Aladdin, Quackshot, Ducktales, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Ninja Turtles etc etc)
    could be rather difficult and had a compelling, fun challenge to them.

    @wirebrain: Games changed from challenges to interactive movies. I guess after spending 2 years creating real-time shadow effects, developers don't want to ruin the "cinematic experience" by having us replay the same stretch of level 10 times before we can get it right. Those of us who were there in the early days understand that dying over and over until you can pull it off perfectly is what it's supposed to be all about #marvelsuperherosquad

    @ProdigalMoon: @winwinwe: I'm more inclined to believe that it has to do with "EVERYONE WINS!", making kids feel good above everything else that might challenge and improve their skills.

    Moon's explanation makes more sense from the big action game stuff, like Tomb Raider. #marvelsuperherosquad

    @wirebrain: That is true. It's funny though, when I was a kid (I'm 34 now) I would play through some of the toughest games, sometimes even crappy games. I renting games was not always possible and I only got a game when someone would buy me one... so even if it sucked, I'd play the crap out of it. I remember getting the Silver Surfer NES game, and it was balls hard, but I suffered thru and beat it. But now that I'm grown up (so to speak), if a game is too hard I just give it up. I play for fun, not stress. I have enough stress in my adult life. If a game stops being fun I stop playing. I'm not saying hard games suck. Some of them are quite good. I just don't have it in me anymore. Even going back and playing games I used to play... like Mega Man 1. I beat it as a kid. But I still can't get passed one of the end bosses now. Ghost and Goblins. I can barely finish a couple of stages now, and I used to plow thru it. Am I the only one who has gotten "soft" with age? lol. #marvelsuperherosquad

    @BubbleF**kingBuddy: Not sure if Comic books are for children anymore. I'm not sure they ever were. I didnt really start getting deep into comics until after 13 at least.

    If you dont believe me look at a Comic shop it ain't kids going in there. Its barely any teens. These are the type of things that get kids into the comic shop when they get older.

    Funny that someone posting on a site for Video Games considers Comic books for children. All the people I know that feel that way about comics feel exactly the same about da video games. #marvelsuperherosquad

    When I was 4 years old, my heroes were of the super variety, and I was fully capable of taking them straight. I didn't need anything morphed or kiddied up. I watched Superman die and Batman have his back broken, what happened?
