I'm kinda interested in playing this, but I'm rather reluctant to give NISA my money after their response to Ar Tonelico II's...issues.

Besides, I still haven't played the first Mana Khemia. I didn't pick that one up because Atelier Iris was the first Atelier game I didn't like, and Gust went on to make two more games AFTER it.

We'll see. Either I'll get the LE, or I won't buy it at all. It's no fun owning the regular edition, amirite?

EDIT: That promo song was terrible. Where's the Haruka Shimotsuki?

I know nothing of this game, but I can't stop looking at the pink-haired girl's hand and think that her thumb is on the wrong side of her hand.

@OUberLord: It's not the pink haired girl's hand, it's the guy (or girl, I can't tell which... oh Japan...) who is standing in the front. And even then it's still anatomically incorrect. With the way his (or her) chest is angled, there is no fucking way their arm could be stretched out like that unless perhaps it was dislocated at the shoulder.

Yeah, it's clearly a girl. I don't have a problem with the arm placement, either. And taking out the arm would probably interfere with her ability to perform alchemy. :P

@TaggarT6: It's alright, although the PSP version suffered from speed issues (unless you hacked it, it was improved with 333Mhz speeds) while the PSP version actually had more non-essentials items, weapons, and armor to make that was only available in multiplayer.

The story's like Harry Potter, only much less annoying. The gameplay is best described as a strange-but-enjoyable hybrid of Mario RPG and Final Fantasy X.

Also, there's the guy with the sword that fires shuriken.

@TaggarT6: I recently bought the first one and I'm loving it so far. So I can't really say much about the entire game, since I haven't beaten it yet.

It comes with English and Japanese language options, if that matters to you. Though, if you don't like anime, you definitely won't like this game. Its heavily influenced in the JRPG/anime kind of way. If you can "tolerate" anime, then I'd still get this game. Its fun.

For only $20 new, its an amazing bargain. And its a good way to spend the time until Mana Khemia 2 comes out. haha

@TaggarT6: I finished the first one and thought it was a decent game.

It is a branch of the Atelier series so be prepared to perform a ton of alchemy.. especially when the skill/stat grid relies on the objects created.

@TaggarT6: I loved the original. If you like school based, magic item hoarding, alchemy experimenting sort of stuff then it's pretty cool. If you like anime characters that helps too.

I like JRPG a lot so I was bound to like it but it's just a fun thing. The graphics aren't that good and it doesn't do anything new (unless you've never tried a game with item synthesis stuff) but it's a fun game.

@TaggarT6: If you're a fan of the Atelier series or of RPGs in general, then yes. It's got neat mechanics what with item synthesis/upgrading and what-not. I loved the first one and already have this one pre-ordered.

@D Mitsuki : Gotta have guts kid!: You can find them on occasion at Gamestops all over the country. They pop up a lot more often now that people are getting rid of their PS2s. Anubis was actually kinda rare at one point, but they're flooding the market again, despite never getting a reprint. I think the game goes for like, 25 bucks or something like that.

That style reminds me of a modern-day updated Ragnarok Online, or even more, its predecessor Arcturus. Especially the one where the character goes "/swt".

To me that's a good thing though. It's much easier to spend long hours in a game that looks this good.
