<![CDATA[Cliff Bleszinski Takes Your Calls During This Week's Podcast]]> I have a found a man who can fill in on the Kotaku podcast tomorrow for a vacationing Brian Crecente. A man who will take your calls live. That man is Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski.

The chief architect of the Gears of War series and a fun guy to chat games with, Cliff will follow in the Kotaku podcast guest-appearance tradition of Ken Levine, Tim Schafer and ... Michael McWhertor (a lucky "get," as they say).

This is your chance to ask Bleszinski about Gears of War, Unreal, his favorite color, Epic Games, Mark Rein, Shadow Complex and whatever else. Don't expect a Gears 3 announcement, but, hey, maybe he'll be in a generous mood!

Look for a reminder post about the podcast at 10:55 AM mountain time (12:55 ET) tomorrow. The post will include call-in info so you can ask your questions. The show will be live at 11am MT, 1pm ET. That's Wednesday. Tomorrow.

<![CDATA[Capcom's E3 Lineup Rife With Mystery]]> Capcom has revealed their game lineup for E3 2009, or perhaps it's better to say mostly revealed, with two mystery titles making their debut at the show.

For the most part, Capcom's E3 2009 lineup is made up of games you have either already heard about or even already played. They'll be showing off the PC versions of Bionic Commando and Street Fighter; upcoming sequels like Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (not technically a sequel, I know), and Mega Man Star Force 3; and new titles such as Spyborgs and Fate Unlimited Codes.

The most intriguing titles at Capcom's E3 booth are two we don't know about yet.

One will be playable at the booth, while another is being announced at their press conference. While the press conference title is anyone's guess. I would welcome anything, as long as it means I don't have to sit through a Lost Planet movie panel again. The new playable title would mean a game already far along enough to play. Monster Hunter Tri, perhaps?

Hit the link for the full accounting of Capcom's E3 2009 presence, and stay tuned to Capcom's blog for your chance to join them at the show!

<![CDATA[Paradox Interactive At GC - Project Mayhem?]]> World-renowned PC strategy developer and publisher Paradox Interactive is getting ready to bring their A games to the Games Convention 2008 is Leipzig this year, with a host of new titles and one mysterious mystery project. Probably their biggest title (so far) to be announced for the show is Majesty 2 – The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, the follow up the hilarious Majesty from 2000, which combined RTS gameplay with the most clichéd fantasy role-playing world ever created. They've also got Dark Horizon, the space combat sim I am more than a little excited about, Mount & Blade, an action RPG featuring realistic mounted combat, and Elven Legacy, a fantasy RTS.

They will also be revealing something they call Project Mayhem, which they simply describe as the "Next title developed by Paradox development team and their biggest production to date". The latter enables players to roam the map freely in a medieval world that offers activities ranging from hunting down bandits, to trading for profit in the game's complex economic system, to becoming a commander and taking part in the wars, with the ultimate goal of becoming a great lord of the realm.

Elven Legacy

Elven Legacy delivers a world filled with magic, and a thrilling nonlinear storyline, gauged to provide many hours of gameplay for strategy enthusiasts. Through an epic quest to restore the former glory of the Elven race, this fantasy strategy game offers both depth and scope, all in colorful and inspirational settings.

E3 Titles Showcase Quality, Innovation and Accessibility on New Properties and Popular Franchises

E3 Media & Business Summit 2008
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) today unveiled the games it will feature at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) July 15 – 17. The games — scheduled to ship on multiple platforms in 2008 and early 2009 – include riveting graphics, deep stories and online, socially connected experiences. EA’s portfolio covers many genres and platforms for core gamers and new players alike. Veteran players will love the feature innovations in our core titles; new players – women, young people and adults – will have a wide selection of highly accessible games like MySims™ Kingdom, Hasbro’s LITTLEST PET SHOP and FaceBreaker™ a new arcade-style boxing game from the new EA SPORTS Freestyle™ brand.

“EA’s 2008 lineup is our best ever,” said EA CEO John Riccitiello. “This is the year that our core franchises leap forward with stunning innovation and we introduce more brand new games than any other year in our history. Sports lovers will compete in an all new holographic mode in Madden NFL 09 and experience the online evolution of their players in NBA LIVE 09. Action fans will be able to destroy everything in sight in Mercenaries 2 and be scared witless in our new Sci-Fi horror title Dead Space. We’ve got casual family titles like Hasbro’s LITTLEST PET SHOP and genre-defying experiences like Mirror’s Edge and Spore. EA has never offered consumers a stronger, more innovative and diverse line up of new games.”

“EA’s 2008 lineup includes titles that are going to change how people purchase, play and socialize in games,” said EA COO John Pleasants. “Spore – scheduled for release in September – can be experienced as a single player or in an online social network that will form its own galaxy. Battlefield Heroes brings comic-styled warfare together with multi-player fun in the first free-to-play First Person Shooter. MySims PC brings multi-player interaction to the universe of MySims. Warhammer Online promises realm-versus-realm gameplay, unique in the scale and consequence thousands of players can experience together in a game. These games are great examples of the many titles that will allow consumers to interact with their friends and with EA’s content in new ways that bridge the gap between games and social networks.”

EA will kick off its E3 presence with a press conference hosted by CEO John Riccitiello, and spotlighting many of the creative leaders as well as featuring new titles from EA.

The game provides players expansive exploration and in-game interactivity on their quest to defeat the sources of evil, continuously offering a significant challenge to players as they advance through a world of untamed wilderness. <![CDATA[Majesco's E3 Lineup - AWAY With Major Minor]]> Majesco is bringing it's 'A' game to E3 this year, with a strong line up of titles for the Nintendo Wii and DS ranging from the quirky and curious to the deep and involving. By far the most intriguing game in my opinion is Major Minor's Majestic March for the Wii, which reunites the Parappa the Rapper team of Masaya Matsuura and Rodney Greenblat. Along with Major Minor, Majesco's Wii line up includes Cooking Mama World Kitchen, the house remodeling title Our House, and Zoo Hospital, which is a bit like Trauma Center for the arguably less-evolved set.

On the DS they'll be showcasing the recently announced Mistwalker RPG AWAY Shuffle Dungeon, featuring the combined talents of famed RPG creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, character designer Naoto Oshima and composer Nobuo Uematsu. Trying desperately to outshine that title on the DS will be Wonder World Amusement Park, Babysitting Mania, and physics-based puzzler Marker Man Adventures.

Between Major Minor and AWAY, this is shaping up to be the most exciting Majesco line up in years. Hit the jump for more info.
