Lunar: Silver Star Harmony is an enhanced remake of Lunar: The Silver Star, coming to the PSP courtesy of XSEED Games in Q1 of 2010. While the game will retail for $29.99, $10 more will net players a special limited edition package containing a soundtrack CD and a set of 13 exclusive "bromide" collector cards featuring the girls of Lunar.

"As the definitive version of Lunar: The Silver Star with completely reworked graphics, a remastered soundtrack containing songs new and old, an enhanced battle system, and additional story elements never before revealed, Lunar: Silver Star Harmony deserved a special Limited Edition version to commemorate the rebirth of this beloved franchise," stated Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. "For fans of the previous iteration, we've built upon the English script from before to offer returning fans something new while keeping the heart of the original outstanding localization intact."

As I said, it's certainly not the cloth map, soundtrack CD, hardbound instruction manual and making of videos of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, but it'll do. They just don't make them like Working Designs anymore.

<![CDATA[Pimp Your Ride With The Bad Company 2 Limited Edition]]> The Limited Edition of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been announced, delivering four vehicle upgrades and two classic Battlefield 1943 weapons at no additional cost.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition isn't a collector's edition, weighed down with useless trinkets for an inflated price, but rather a limited version of the regular game packaged with some extras to make getting the game on day one a little more worthwhile. The six special customizations included in the LE are available to all players once they unlock them, but LE buyers will get them on day one, giving them a brief advantage in multiplayer. Think of it as a head start.

The four vehicle unlocks include improved armor, additional weapon mounts, a motion sensor that detects nearby enemies, and a tracer dart pistol that marks enemy vehicles to be tracked by rockets, even when outside of your line of sight.

Fans of Battlefield 1943 will feel right-at-home with the M1A1 submachine gun and the M1911 pistol, powerful weapons from more than 66 years in the past.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition will be available on March 2nd in North America, sold at participating retailers while supplies last.

<![CDATA[Naruto Clash 3 Preorder Has A Nice Ring To It]]> If you recognize this thumb ring, then you should probably preorder Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 from your local GameStop.

The Sasori Akatsuki thumb ring is one of two separate exclusives that GameStop is featuring for the November release of Clash of Ninja Revolution 3, available to anyone who preorders the regular $39.99 version of the game online or in-store. Fans that'd rather pass on the bling can opt for a special limited edition bundle of the game and a DVD of Naruto Shippuden The Movie for $10 over regular retail price.

"We are thrilled to offer consumers two fantastic value options when purchasing our game this holiday season," said Laura Yoshioka, director of consumer software at TOMY Corporation. "By offering a highly collectable Sasori ring as a pre-sell item for the standard version of the game, and including such a highly-anticipated movie DVD in our first ever Clash of Ninja limited edition, our goal was to offer Naruto fans a tremendous opportunity to add to their Naruto collection whatever their budget allowed."

Looking over the GameStop website, it does look like the ring is exclusive to the normal edition, not available with a preorder for the limited edition, so make your decision wisely!

<![CDATA[Bakugan Collector's Editions Have Balls]]> Fans picking up the first run of Bakugan Battle Brawlers for the Nintendo DS this October can score the Collector's Edition, which comes packed with a limited edition ball for them to play with.

Bakugan is big with the kids, or it was last time I checked, which was a year ago, so the Nintendo DS game based on the animated series should do rather well, especially now that Activision has revealed the Collector's Edition, which comes with a limited-edition Naga Bakugan toy, which they can immediately sell on eBay. No, really!

"One look on eBay will show you how fanatics obsess over rare Bakugans - we're sure the Naga battle ball will become one of the most prized of all," said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. "Bakugan players and gamers are getting the opportunity to score something special while picking up the most entertaining Nintendo DS™ game of the year!"

If this is the case, you should probably preorder around 20 and just sit on them for awhile. I want to see you camping out for this one, people!

For those of you who don't know who Naga is, Activision provides a description below.

<![CDATA[Brutal Legend's Eddie Riggs In All His Sculpted Glory]]> How can you truly call yourself metal if you don't have a 17 inch Brutal Legend Eddie Riggs figure leaping dramatically from your mantle?

Sculpted lovingly by Mark Newman and splashed with color by Tom Vukmanic, this official Eddie Riggs statue depicts Jack Black's video game alter ego at the height of his power, leaping majestically from atop a base of skulls and horns to lay waste to his enemies with The Separator firmly in his grip. The statue is limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide, and EA is being awfully coy as to how to get your hands on one. All they say is to keep your eyes on the Brutal Legend website and the @brutallegend Twitter feed for your chance to bring one of these babies home.

What happened to the good old days, when we could simply give someone a great deal of money for our collectibles?

<![CDATA[We're Slightly Afraid Of Amazon's Ghostbusters Slimer Edition]]> The most frightening thing about Amazon.com's exclusive Slimer Edition pack for Atari's Ghostbusters game is definitely the price tag.

Amazon is offering a limited edition pack that contains Ghostbusters the Video Game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Wii, packed with enough exclusive goodies to satisfy even the most rabid fan, provided they have the disposable income to afford it. The package includes an Ecto 1 key chain with lights and sound; a set of Ghostbusters Gamer Graffix console skins; four exclusive Ghostbusters Mini-Mates action figures (concept shots below); and the piece de resistance - exclusive Slimer bust designed and created by the original movie sculptor, Steve Johnson.

An attractive package, but the hairs on the back of our necks began to stand up a little when we saw the price tag. Amazon wants $129.99 for the Slimer Edition on the PlayStation 3 and 360, knocking off $20 for the Wii version. As I said, definitely attractive, but probably not $70 worth of attractive. Boo.

<![CDATA[DJ Max Fever's Extremely Limited, Ultra-Expensive Edition]]> Fans of Pentavision's DJ Max series are a fiercely loyal bunch, but are they fiercely loyal enough to shell out $130 for the ultra-limited the crew edition of DJ Max Fever for the PSP?

The series might be a bit obscure - I was the only person who pre-ordered a copy of DJ Max Fever at my local GameStop - but the fans truly adore the mix of intense rhythm gameplay, lovely artwork, and quirky Korean music that defines the franchise. As a way of saying thanks to said fans, publisher PM Studios and Pentavision are releasing extremely limited quantities of the DJ Max Fever the crew edition.

So what's in the box?

Folks who order one of the 125 copies going up for pre-order tomorrow will receive the game in a special housing created exclusively by the developer for the US release, the three-disc DJ Max Audio Trinity Soundtrack, a DJ Max Art book, a jigsaw puzzle, a Limited Post Card set, an NB Rangers Mask, a collectable DJ Max Technika IC player card, and a copy of game signed by the developers.

Is all of that worth $130? Ask me tomorrow morning, if I manage to snag a pre-order.

<![CDATA[Fable II LE Code Solution Live - Microsoft Is Watching]]> Some purchasers of the Fable II Limited Edition last week were surprised to find the promised DLC codes absent from their packages. Now Microsoft has set up a system to get the codes out to LE owners, which can be found here, but be warned - Microsoft is keeping an eye out for those trying to scam the system by requesting codes without having purchased the LE. Lionhead community manager Sam Van Tilburgh

We are incredibly sorry and apologize to anyone frustrated by this process. We have been focused on ensuring that our North American LCE customers impacted by this retail issue are quickly taken care of and receive their codes in a timely manner. It was the quickest solution we could implement to address the issue. Microsoft will be monitoring submissions from users looking to abuse the system but I can’t discuss what those measures specific to this solution are.

So everyone who is emailing with tips regarding free limited edition DLC for everyone might want to rethink that idea. Not sure what measures they could possibly take, but the warning certainly sounds ominous, doesn't it? Hit the jump for Sam's full response to our inquiry.

Microsoft’s first concern is to get content into the hands of LCE customers in North America who did not receive a code in their retail package. There will be people that try to game the system - we are tracking requests and gamertags associated. We are focused on ensuring that our North American LCE customers impacted by this retail issue are quickly taken care of and receive their codes in a timely manner.

<![CDATA[Black Friday 08: Sears' Limited Edition DS Colors]]> The Black Friday ads are starting to roll in, and over at GottaDeal.com they've just posted the one from Sears, which features two limited edition Nintendo DS Lite bundles. Choose from the Ice Blue DS Lite with Brain Age and color-coordinated case, or the Mario Red DS Lite, similar to the normal DS that came with Mario Kart DS, only thinner, sexier, and packaged with the New Super Mario Bros. Both versions will only be available between 5AM and Noon on Black Friday, and I doubt they'll even last that long.

Not a bad start to Black Friday 2008, though the price doesn't exactly scream bargain to me. I suppose things can only get better from here.

<![CDATA[Microsoft Slightly Addresses Missing Fable II LE Codes]]> What McWhertor posted last night as a rumor is definitely not a rumor. I found out last night after getting my Fable II Depressing Limited Edition from GameStop that yes, the card was missing from the game. It was pathetic enough to go from that majestic-looking LE package to a game in a paper sleeve, and now this? Yay. Here's what Microsoft has to say about the issue on Xbox.com.

We have identified that some copies of the "Fable II" Limited Collector's Edition are missing the downloadable content (DLC) cards, which give access to in-game bonus content. This represents a small fraction of the total number of "Fable II" games shipped and sold, and is contained to the Limited Collector's Edition of the game in North America. We are currently investigating the scope of this situation and regardless the outcome of the investigation, we are implementing a plan to address it. We will have a means to deliver replacement codes by Oct 28th so please check back then. We apologize for the inconvenience.

It represents a small fraction, yet they are currently investigating the scope of the situation? So how do they know it's a small fraction if they are still investigating? Good old doublespeak. Anyway, salvation hopefully comes on the 28th.

<![CDATA[Hot Topic Slashes Prices On LE Halo 3 Xbox 360]]> I know what you're thinking - why the hell is Hot Topic selling video game consoles? It doesn't make any sense to me, and it doesn't seem to have made sense to many consumers either, as the trendy in a stupid sort of way retail chain is sitting on a large number of limited edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 consoles, and they're pricing them to move. $199 gets you the special Spartan Green number that completely failed to cause a stir at last year's E3. While it does only come with a 20GB hard disk, that's 20GB more than the comparably priced Arcade system, plus it comes with a play and charge kit and a headset.

Not sure how many of these they have left as of this moment, though I can confirm there is one less than there was when I heard the news. I'm a sucker for limited edition colors, dammit.

<![CDATA[The Extremely Limited Edition UK MGS4 Watch]]> Isn't she lovely? This lovely Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots timepiece, now up for preorder at UK online retailer Gamestation, has been lovingly crafted using the finest stainless steel, engraved and numbered, and packed in a lovely black box with a silver MGS4 logo stamped on top along with a certificate of authenticity from Konami. Approved by Kojima himself, only 500 of these babies are being released on October 31st of this year, and they're only going to be available through Gamestation...who only ships to the UK, making me sad.

One of the team responsible for creating the limited edition dropped us a line to let us know that Gamestation accidentally put it up for order before the big announcement, so this would be an excellent time to order one before the rush. At £99.99 it makes an excellent gift for any member of the American gaming press sitting at their computer desk drooling over a watch.

<![CDATA[Alone In The Dark Euro Limited Edition]]> Someone at Eden Games has a thing for Keanu Reeves, don't you think? It's as if they buffed him up, renamed him Edward Carnby and plastered his face all over the European Limited Edition for Alone In The Dark for the Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. He's on the cover of the Official Soundtrack CD, the Making Of DVD, and splashed throughout the pages of the bound art book. Hell, they've even included a figurine of Neo Carby for you to play bullet-time with in the bathtub. It's all wrapped up in a rather nifty looking box that will completely fail to fit on the shelf with the rest of your game collection, securing it a cherry spot above your mantle. All I can say is whoa...I hope we get something similar stateside. Not to sure about the game but I love having boxes of Limited Edition stuff lying around.

Host of Exclusive Content Including Making Of Documentary Feature, Figurine of Game's Hero, Full Colour Art Book and More

LYON, FRANCE - 22 April 2007 - Atari today announced details of the European Limited Edition of the highly anticipated action adventure game Alone in the Dark, scheduled for simultaneous launch with the game across Europe in June for Xbox 360, Wii and PC.

The full contents of the European Limited Edition box are as follows:
• Alone in the Dark game, one of the most anticipated games of the year;
• Figurine of the game's legendary hero, Edward Carnby;
• Official Soundtrack CD featuring 8 in-game tracks of original music by Olivier Derivière and performed by Grammy® Award-winning choir The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices;
• Full colour, bound art book featuring never before seen production sketches, storyboards and original artwork from Eden Games;
• 'Making Of' documentary feature DVD with exclusive interviews, behind the scenes footage and additional bonus content.

Exclusive items to the Limited Edition include the art book, hero figurine and 'making of' documentary DVD which are only available through purchase of the Limited Edition in Europe.

Released in a specially designed box, the Limited Edition takes fans deep into the world of Alone in the Dark, the innovative game that is set to break the boundaries of gaming genres with its action-packed survival experience. During one night in New York, the player takes the role of Edward Carnby battling to survive at all costs and uncover the earth-shattering secret behind Central Park.

Developed by Eden Games, Alone in the Dark uses state-of-the-art technology to create a fully interactive environment where all objects can be freely used to create tools, decoys and weapons. Told in the episodic style of popular TV drama series, the intense story grips the player from start to finish with action, plot twists, and cliff hangers. The DVD-style chapter select puts an end to frustration allowing the player to move on if they get stuck, and creating the first game that absolutely everyone can finish. The Limited Edition shows how these and other innovations were transformed from ideas and ambition into heart-stopping, nail-biting gameplay reality.
