can you guys bold the words "FREE" and "HEAD START" the comments are filled with people who either mis-read or didn't read at all and then ranting about it. #battlefieldbadcompany2
Is nobody actually reading this article? The LE doesn't cost more, and it only gives you things that can be unlocked in the SE of the game. While I'm personally not interested in this game, this is the actually a thoughtful incentive to buy the game on release day. I, like most of the other people complaining here (although they haven't picked up on the major points of this article), think the idea of paying extra for an "LE" version is totally superfluous, and a bad practice. And offering extra items (although usually unnecessary, and possesing no real value) by pre-ordering a game at a specific retailer is complete rubbish, and the practice should be abolished.unlocked in the SE of the game. So in order to play everything the game has to offer you have to pay MORE? Forget that, the first Bad Company went from full retail to a discounted price in less then two months. I'm not going to throw money away like that again. If you coded it into the game, then give it to everyone. Greedy B@stards. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@stitchjones: Reading comprehension is your friend.
"The Limited Edition of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been announced, delivering four vehicle upgrades and two classic Battlefield 1943 weapons at no additional cost."
It's like the BlazBlue LE. More content, same cost. Nowhere are you paying more to get content already in the game. You pay the same price and get rewarded for buying early.
"The six special customizations included in the LE are available to all players once they unlock them, but LE buyers will get them on day one,"
You can still get everything the LE offers at a later date, you just have to play the multiplayer. This content isn't blocked off for a specific subgroup. Unlocking weapons in BF has never been hard, ever.
This is actually a better deal than the BlazBlue LE as all of the content is unlockable whether you buy the game day one or 3 years later.

At first I was going to go on a rant about all of these bullshit preorder "bonuses" that have taken the industry by storm as of late, but after reading the article, I quite like it. It's a fair incentive to get people to buy the game early unlike a lot of the Gamerstop preorder crap. At least everyone has access to this content and you aren't forced to shop at a shitty store to have access to something that could have possibly be included in the game. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@ThursdayNext: I'm curious though if these are the same weapons 1943 owners were supposedly to get as a treat..or are they different and we'll get other weapons as well. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@Laronvas: Hmmm, good point, don't know. Honestly though, I don't like exclusivity in multiplayer games. Everything should be available to everyone, makes for a level playing field. #battlefieldbadcompany2
I want judge them. Because if there was something like this for MW2 that game multiplayer advantages, I would buy it in a heartbeat. #battlefieldbadcompany2
I think this is a good idea.
Everybody should be able to enjoy the same game, and giving early adopters a bonus that other people must unlock is only fair.
Now if we had to pay extra for this content, it would be a different story. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@Franky_AAA: They tried it with BF:BC 1. And there was a rather well publicised boycott of it and EA/Dice changed thier mind on the whole thing. I like the incentive that early adopters are given a reward. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@peterpanpiper2: uhm, if you actually read the article is says pretty clearly that all players will get access to these items, you just have to unlock them through play.
If you are even mediocre it didn't take long to unlock everything in BF:BC. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@Yossarian: Don't be a prat. Reading is for chumps. You just look at the headline and the picture, occaisionally skim over the teaser section of the text and then comment as agressively as possible. #battlefieldbadcompany2
Are we fans of this? Isn't it the same as offering a paid DLC code to give you items without unlocking them first? So very, very EA of them. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@SouthernerISuppose: Except it is free (which is new for EA) and rewards pre-orders/day ones. Don't have a problem myself, I mean if you buy the game late you're going to be disadvatanged anyway (and most of the hardcore players will already have had unlocked all the content by then) #battlefieldbadcompany2
@MajorNewbie: Exactly. All it's doing is encouraging people to pick up the game up on day one, which I don't see it as a problem. It's not like you won't be able to get these upgrades. And I'm sure they won't be so game changing that you can't beat someone if they have them before you. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@SouthernerISuppose: I think this is more along the lines of the BlazBlue limited edition. It's the same price for more content for those who buy from the first batch of games. It's essentially free and like MajorNewbie said it doesn't hurt people who purchase later anymore than being late to the multiplayer party already does. #battlefieldbadcompany2
Cool, things along the lines of this and the Scribblenauts rooster hat (... which I'm wearing right now) are what pre-order bonuses should be. Not exclusive ingame content that should be there to begin with.
