Gossip, news and leaks for obsessive gamers.
Sure it's been delayed again, but look at all of the nifty stuff you get! EA Mythic has revealed the contents of the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition, perhaps in an attempt to get you to look beyond the release date, which they've done twice now. If that is their tactic, it seems to be working for me. All I can think of now is getting my paws on the exclusive Games Workshop miniature, hardbound graphic novel, and 224-page hardcover art book packed inside what is sure to be a massive, weighty package. Now how much would you pay? Wait, there's more! The collector's edition also comes with bonus in-game items, quests, rewards, titles, and even special heads for your characters, setting them apart from the plebeians who couldn't scrounge up the extra dough. $79.99 secures you one of these babies, but you'd best preorder now, as quantities are limited to 60,000 in North America.
In case there ever was any doubt, Microsoft's press site has images up for the temporary box art for Epic's just announced Gears of War 2, in both regular edition red and shiny limited edition black. No details on what will come with the limited edition yet, but I am guessing there will be some sort of bonus disc and a $10 or more higher price tag associated with it. Keep in mind this box art is only temporary so the folks at stores like GameStop can place them in the coming soon area and get your $5 down payment.
Capcom has finally unveiled the contents of the Premium Super Awesome Limited Collector's Edition of Devil May Cry 4 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and while it not be a collector's case with replicas of Dante's pistols in it, it's still not a bad little deal. Both versions will be packaged in 'Steelbook' cases, along with a bonus DVD that contains a making of featurette, music from the soundtrack, a digital art book, wallpapers, icons, and screen savers. Also included with the Collector's Edition is the first disc of ADV's Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, containing four episodes of the brand new anime. It looks to be packaged in one of those little cardboard disc sleeves that anime fans despise, so expect printable fan-made DVD case inserts to be available by the time the game is released. I'm probably going to pass on this one myself, as $79.99 makes that anime DVD more of an additional purchase than a bonus.
