Oh bah, couldn't put in an actual Pop Rock song like "Hazel Eyes" could we? I'm not ashamed to admit it, my friends and I have been wanting that song in a music game since the first Karaoke Revolution came out!
What does LEGO Rock Band have to do with Kelly Clarkson being added to the DLC list? RB's been getting pop acts since it came out.
Heck, a number of the bands in LEGO already have songs as DLC or are getting them in the near future. (Including Petty, Elton John, Korn, Queen, and David Bowie)
@TRT-X: I think the point being made in that regard is that since Lego Rock Band came out, they've decided to make more pop DLC.
Though last time they had Rob Zombie, if I recall correctly. I may not be as into Rock Band as most commenters on Kotaku are, but I'm well aware of the fact that Harmonix usually keeps things straight in the DLC department. This batch is probably just a catering to people who bought Lego RB.

Harmonix tends to license multiple songs at once, usually in sets of three.
Tom Petty's a good example: before the live tracks, there was Free Fallin' (Lego), Runnin' Down a Dream (DLC), and I Won't Back Down (DLC). The Allman Brothers Band is another. "Ramblin' Man" was in Rock Band 2, and "Midnight Rider" and "Blue Sky" showed up as DLC later.
There are always exceptions, but if Harmonix has licensed a band for the disc they'll usually show up again as DLC down the line.
Psyched for more Tom Petty in RB! Hope these live versions are really good. Sometimes the live versions they choose for some songs are kind of dodgy and you wish they just went with the studio track.
I was tempted to buy this because it's a LEGO game, but what would have really sold me on it is if they'd at least bundled a LEGO-fied guitar controller with it. #legorockband
Don't all of the Lego games not have online play? It seems like Traveller's Tales refuses to acknowledge that people would want to play their games together online. #legorockband
So here's what I don't get. A lot of people seemingly ate up RB: The Beatles. And yet that had only 45 tracks. Here, having 44 tracks is listed as a con, and a bunch of people are complaining about it in the comments.
Am I missing something? I thought RB: The Beatles was a ripoff for the same reason. #legorockband
@CnEY: Why would it be a ripoff to have 45 Beatles songs? They picked all of the best songs that fit the game well and fit what they were going for with the story mode perfectly. Having 90 songs would've diluted it with stuff that wasn't nearly as good as the rest. #legorockband
@sanman7890: Nope. The transfer requires a one-time use code, which is NOT on the manual - it's on a separate sheet in the case.
Even if the rental place gives you the transfer code sheet in with the game (and they shouldn't have - I know that Blockbuster, at least, shipped the games with directions to destroy those), chances are it's been used by now anyway. #legorockband
@Benguin:
The two basic options there are the Rebel Mechanic/Engineer torso (has some sort of vertical bars over the belly) and the Cloud City Luke shirt (no vertical bars). The latter both looks more accurate and is considerably cheaper on Bricklink due to having been reused on at least half a dozen City minifigs (including the Boy Scout from Cafe Corner). #legorockband
@Benguin:
There are only two dark-green minifigs right now. One is Ryo from Exo-Force, and the other is Professor Lupin from Harry Potter. The Halo armor fully covers the torso, so it will hide the painted design, but if you prefer to have a completely paint-free torso you can always scrub it clean with an abrassive metal polish like Brasso. It takes some serious elbow grease (it does not dissolve the paint), but the surface will actually be left more glossy than a brand-new LEGO brick.
Note, however, that there are _no_ dark-green hands. Not sure if you'd need them or not, but... #legorockband
@Purple Dave: I wish I had checked BrickForge again after placing my order before. Literally the day after I did they released Plasma Swords for the Space Marine line.
... sigh. Time to load up the cart again. Darn $10 minimum. #legorockband
@Benguin:
I just found out the other day that they came out with two new colors for the scooters. And golf clubs (somewhere I have an astronaut minifig that's been waiting for that...).
What I really need now is a source for minifig stands that are made in either clear or dark-bley plastic. I need to be able to get minifigs to stand on the club road plates during shows without having them all fall down whenever someone bumps the layout. #legorockband
@Purple Dave: Dunno if you got my message, but I grabbed an extra proton pack set and figured I'd try to make the Ghostbusters 2 suit. ([img114.imageshack.us]). Any tips as far as gray pieces go? #legorockband
If the first one came with a black belt, and in dark-bley, it'd be perfect. The other two have pockets that shouldn't be there. Personally, I'd go with the second one, because the belt buckle doesn't make him look like he just won a rodeo.
@Purple Dave: Ah yeah, I was doing some digging around yesterday and saw that Rebel Technician. I was either going to go with that or one of the Imperial Officer designs. Probably the Grand Moff one.
I just found it recently, but I have to say I love BrickLink.

The first week, we had Foo Fighters and Nirvana. The following week was AFI. This week we also have Tom Petty.
There have been "poppier" singles included in those weeks, but it's on different than what we've been seeing for the past year or so.

No, but Brickforge sells custom LEGO-style proton packs and guns, so you can at least make custom Ghostbusters minifigs:
