That last sentence was a little harsh, McWhertor. Online co-op will never be able to completely emulate the joy 2 good friends can have in a living room a late night with co-op games like this. I'm sorry, but that's the truth...there's something special about that kind of gameplay. And I, for one, would not want to see that banished to the dusty corners of a museum.
@Harpo: Agreed, offline co-op makes the person your playing with interactive. Be it for a punch on the shoulder, a retro 50's high five or pointing and laughing in his face..
Like when i play pro evo with a friend.. I want to watch them cringe as i don't skip te replay, watch them scold the controller, team, couch or tv screen after yet another failed attempt..
I think that the disappearance of offline co-op this generation has been disappointing. Very few games support this outside of the LEGO franchise and the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games. I always look for games to play locally with my sister (who has a wide range of tastes), but the search is primarily fruitless.
@GohanGVO: I gotta be honest; I completely missed that. Thanks for pointing that out! Sorry.
Yeah, having the option to play it online, too, is nice to have indeed. Still, I think I made my point in the first post.
@marbury157: *high-fives* =D

@D-K, stubbed his toe..*swears*: Glad to see you guys agree! I really think of this as one of the finest traditions of gaming. Sharing a session in the very same room...it can be magical, really.
@spiderweb1986: Sort of. There was a firmware update released a week prior to Wii Sports Resort that dealt with a tutorial video replaying more times than it should.
However, no one has access to alter the firmware beyond Nintendo. So while it is technically possible, it appears that it is a moot point for everyone beyond the House of Mario.
@Harpo: Sort of. The "patch" is a complete reissue of the title, and the only way you'd know to redownload would be if you'd checked the Wii Shop channel.
Come on, the dancing is obviously meant to replace the moment where the Nazi's are in euphoria with the spirits that come out of it, not the face melting. Also, this is an official trailer for the game so clearly they're not giving the whole scene here. They hinted at a darker ending with the big transformation.
So, sorry Owen, but I think you just fanboy raged all over this one before really thinking about it. #legoindianajones2
I actually kinda like this. Just exploding or melting Lego people comes off rather dull in a game where you regularly blow them up. This new scene does a much better job of capturing the energy and intensity of the scene by holding on to just the bare plot essentials from the movie. Besides, doing a highly faithful representation of the movies kinda defeats the purpose of creating a Lego Indy game in the first place. If the developers are letting themselves have this much fun creating the game, I am going to be highly looking forward to the completed product. #legoindianajones2
This is humorous... but in the same terrible way the flying saucers in Indiana Jones 4 were laughable. Not necessarily a good thing. #legoindianajones2

Online co-op makes for some cold-ass gaming..

We're happy to see that LucasArts agrees with us that offline-only co-op belongs in a museum.
That one word makes all the difference. If anything, that sentence is implying that co-op games should ideally feature both.
(Now, whether or not I see the need to have both is another story.)
