id has the worst leaks.
I played Doom 2 at least a month early, cracked the Quake 1 CD to unlock their *entire catalog* (many moons ago, and I do not condone such action today :) ), and Doom 3 was leaked by ATI. I am sure there are others, but this is just off the top of my head.
They really should work on their security.
I intend to buy all DLC for this game. They have given HUGE chunks of free content over the last year. The least I can do is pay them back by buying some badass cars.
Note to developers: this is how you take care of your customers and make people WANT to buy your DLC.
The 360 gives you the ability to send download links to friends right? I wonder if you can still do this with a pulled product because it was supposed to be the case for de-listed products.
@okenny :) ...building bridges (to hide under): No go, as I tried using the links that had been posted on Major Nelson's marketplace blog before the content was taken down, and those didn't work. I'm assuming the links would be the exact same.
@RoxsOutXCore: It's the tell a friend thingy from within the game's profile on your 360. I doubt that would work myself but it would be funny if it actually did :)
I don't know...I'm beginning to think Criterion is milking this thing a little too far. They could have included all this in one pack in a good price and everyone would appreciated, now they look like the nickle and dimer that they are. It's not like they're real cars with real performance handling. They all do the same thing but look different. I'm glad I'm still standing my ground on not paying for ANY DLC.
@Thai Tea: "now they look like the nickle and dimer that they are."
Given the truly exemplary past behaviour of Criterion with regards to totally free high-quality DLC for Burnout Paradise, I think they've earned some leeway when it comes to extra vehicles.
@BritBloke916: As long as it is DLC it is worthless. Release an expansion disk with all the updates, you know, something that won't simply disappear along with PSN.
@Crumplecorn: Once you donwload it to your hard disk it won't "disappear". Further, I can't see PSN disappearing anytime soon. I'm fairly sure that isn't part of the "Ten Year Plan(TM)".
Now see, that's the type of attitude that will allow Criterion to get away from completely insane prices for DLC content.
Ok, 600 points for the Legendary cars, I can see that... a lot of work went into them. But 1,000 points for "toy cars"? Seriously? The Party Pack, the toy cars, the legendary cars, the turbo cars.. it's over $30 in DLC at this point, with more to come.
It's almost like they KNEW if they offered free DLC, they could overcharge on everything else and people would buy it.
Isn't Big Surf Island going to have a price tag too? 1600 points, I can almost guarantee it.
@Roufuss: I love Cirterion, I love Burnout, but at this point, I could see it being more than 1600 points. I'm not buying ANY of this content until I see how much Big Surf Island is... at that point, I *MIGHT* buy 20$ worth of content... so if it's only the island, so be it. I'm starting to see that companies are punishing their "early adopters"... I pay 60 bucks for a game, and I can spend another 30-40 on downloadable content.... or I can wait it out until the game hits 20, then buy the entire set for 60$... or I can wait even longer, and get the entire set for $30 total once they make the greatest hits family edition. I'm starting to appreciate Pre-Made DLC that's available for free in the box, but paid for by people who buy used/rent. It makes me feel a little more like I'm be rewarded, and a little less like I'm being punished.
@ThursdayNext: Well Criterion always totes PS3 as the lead SKU and the 360 generally get's everything later. Industry people have also commented that Criterion always tells them NOT to play the 360 version; they should be playing the PS3. Long story short, Criterion hates the 360 but probably sees it as a necessary evil. His little event here however is probably wearing what tolerances they have left a little thin.
is that Hamilton's McLaren i see in the picture if so amazing!!!!!!!!!!! i will certainly be getting that when it's available. Hopefully Hamilton will keep his title this year.
@Bum_Trumpet: It's silver and red granted, but it is not a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. There are no licensed vehicles in Burnout. However, if you want to pretend it is; more power to you...also, hope he retains his title. Awesome driver, expecially in less than favourable conditions.
@INTVGene: It's not to say that they won't produce more free content in the future. Especially if they get lots of money for the paid stuff. Criterion know which side their bread is buttered. Having built up this good a reputation they would be mad to throw it away for the sake of getting an extra nickel/dime off of a few loyal suckers...I mean "customers".

Wright - Objection!!!! Erm...It's not poetic because it doesn't rhyme!
Edgeworth - Objection! *slam desk and point* Poems don't have to rhyme.
Wright - Urk...
Seriously though...how is this poetic? Did I miss another relevant story?

Very thankfully the car isn't based off the 2009 spec.

Besides, look at the thing, the wheel base is far too short.
