The company is officially bringing the PlayStation to Latin America.

The PLAYSTATION 3, the PSP, the PS2 and the PlayStation Network services will be available for 13 countries throughout Latin America thanks to a distribution deal with Sony Latin America.

"Our commitment to expand PlayStation business into Latin America supports our vision to provide access to social entertainment experiences that can be shared among friends and family from around the world," said Mark Stanley, director and general manager, Latin America, SCEA. "This expansion is the direct result of us listening closely to our community, and we're proud to deliver premium hardware and software services that will allow them to easily connect, play and communicate with one another."

In the coming weeks, official website PlayStation.com will feature a localized site for users in Latin America with access to the PlayStation Blog, product pages and public forums.

<![CDATA[Nintendo To Boost Latin American Presence, Advertising]]> Nintendo aren't happy! Sure, they're making buckets of money from the Wii and DS, but shit, they could be making more. Sadly, no mention of Paper Pancho Bigotes, though we're sure Reggie's cracking that particular whip as we speak.

<![CDATA[Open Yer Wallets, Import PS3 Priced]]>

Don't live in America or Japan? Want a PLAYSTATION 3? This post is for you. Gadget exporter Audio Cubes has opened the flood gates on pre-order for the 20GB Sony PS3. The unit will set customers back a cool US $699, which is at a $70 premium when compared to the European pricing for the same model. The site does not yet have pricing on the bells and whistles 60GB console. Expect it to be somewhere between expensive and expensive. (But probably better than anything on eBay.)
