Regardless of whether or not your kids believe in Santa Claus, the point is you can't leave your Lancer just laying around for anyone to play with. This, for example, could happen.

And trust me, the last thing you'll want is to be spending your Christmas day mopping up blood (and cookies).

Oh, and make sure the kids aren't around when you click 'play'.

The Gears of War Lancer replica is certainly cool to pose with and the Nerf version is definitely... cute. But neither packs the actual killing power of the real-life version with working chainsaw attachment.

A few enterprising gun enthusiasts have gone the extra mile for their bayonets, strapping on 14 inches of chainsaw for proper eviscerating. They call it the "Firearm Mounted Anti Zombie Device" but we know it better as the standard issue Lancer from Epic Games' third-person shooter.

Yes, it works, as proven by the video of the thing in pumpkin-slaying action.

Here is just one of a half-dozen videos of these things laying waste to squashes and tree limbs. We'd definitely recommend not trying any of this at home, especially if you don't have the health regenerative powers or biceps the thickness of Marcus Fenix's.

Gamestation Offers World-Exclusive Gold Gears 2 Lancer Replica

Sure, people who pre-order Gears of War 2 get an exclusive in-game gold Lancer weapon to chainsaw their friends with, and folks can order a rather-expensive replica Lancer from Amazon, but only UK online retailer Gamestation offers both. They are now accepting pre-orders for the Gears of War 2 - Gold Lancer Assault Rifle, the same life-size replica of the game weapon as offered on Amazon, only this one is gold. The weapon is priced to sell at £129.99, and comes complete with the limited collector's edition of the game itself, which I suppose is a handy thing to have once you realize that killing people with the toy version of the weapon is extremely difficult.

They've only got a limited number of these puppies to sell, so if you're the type to spend large amounts of money of frivolous gaming extras you might want to do it quickly.

NerfHaven forum poster Forsaken_angel24 has taken his love of All things Nerf and Gears of War to a new level. Using a Nerf rifle and a toy chainsaw from Home Depot, Forsaken_angel24 was able to cobble together a reasonable and realistic looking copy of Gears of War's most infamous weapon, the Lancer. If you are interested in making one of your own, he gives full instructions in a posting on the NerfHaven forums.

I didn't even know they made Nerf guns like the one he used as a base. And parents are worried about the Wii Zapper?
