    Batman AA is up there, although I don't know if I like it so much because it's actually game of the year, or if it's because I was just so surprised at how good it was.

    Uncharted 2 was good from what I played, but I only got to play for less than 2 hours total so I'm not comfortable picking that. It's probably as good a choice as any, though.

    Modern Warfare 2 mostly lived up to the hype, but a few nitpicky things like the dedicated servers issue, a short single-player mode and no co-op campaign (spec ops is ok, but I'd rather see a full mode with co-op) knock it down a few pegs. The multiplayer will keep me hooked for quite a while though.

    Games people have already forgotten about since they came out early this year, but are definitely in the mix: Punch-Out!! and Street Fighter IV.

    Definitely NOT game of the year: Borderlands or NSMB Wii. Both are fun, but the praise on those two is terrifyingly overblown.

    It's been a pretty thin year, Dragon Age is easily at the top of the heap. BioWare has it all figured out right now, next year is going to be even better.

    @Friedhamster: Those are all great games, but the Hollywood-style blockbuster titles aren't GOTY material for me anymore. Arkham Asylum would be my pick of those listed.

    For me... boy, I don't know... I've had a ton of fun with Bayonetta, and why shouldn't that count? It came out this year.

    While I'm firm in my choice of Uncharted 2 for game of the year, I would be remiss if I didn't give additional mention for two very special games.

    That Game Company's "Flower" needs no introduction, and Daniel Benmergui's "Today I Die" should be familiar for the die hard kotakuite.

    I don't know! It's been such a good year for games... I've been completely impressed by how beautiful and engaging Assassin's Creed 2 is. I thought most definitely I'd say Uncharted 2, but I may go with Ubisoft. I'd probably throw Dragon Age in the mix, and it's totally complicated! I also think Arkham Asylum remains as one of my favorites from this year- what a tough decision!

    I... I'd like to apologize to mister Schafer. Though I absolutely adore the humor and the style of Brutal Legend, it's a terrible chore to play. And I dread the idea of playing through another haphazard excessively chaotic battlefield of musical magic spells, nitro boosted super cars, and all too frequent command miscommunication.

I've convinced myself to get Skype credit as soon as I get home this evening and get involved, it's too good of an opportunity to turn down really. Plus I have one or two questions of my own besides just phoning in to say thanks for all the awesome games.

    @D-K, stubbed his toe..*swears*: I could have, if something wasn't (predictably) wrong on my end of Skype and I either didn't make it on, or did make it on, didn't know that I did, stayed silent and was passed over. My call was screened anyway and at least I know for again. Again being next week when hopefully there'll be a good few interesting topics that I could break ground on.

    The main thing I want to talk about this week:

    -Emotions in video games: Why I've cared about some deaths and not others in games. Tim being there makes this good because I'll bring up Brutal Legend with this, FFVII, and CoD: MW2. #kotakutalkradio

    @James Henderson: Out of acceptable timezones? It should be 6 or 7pm when the podcast takes place. If anything the timing of the Kotaku podcast is perfectly suited for two kinds of people: the unemployed North American and the employed European.

    Get a long distance calling card... you must have those there, I know from experience that they have them in the Netherlands, France and Greece. No reason they wouldn't in Ireland. #kotakutalkradio

    @Koztah: That's the problem, I work 12pm-8pm and probably won't be able to tune in. That being said though, it's been a bloody age since I've used Skype, i don't think I even downloaded it since I got this laptop in June, and I've never bought call credit for it before. Who knows, maybe one of the lads'll swap days and I'll get on. #kotakutalkradio

    @Curse lily: I was that way too..until I tired it. Wow...amazing story line and solid game.

    If you have a console, I suggest renting it first. If you like it and have a PC that can run it, I then suggest you buy it for the PC. #kotakutalkradio

    True there are many who likes that, but girl on girl is more...calm, gentle and capricious.

    While guy on guy action it's romantic at best, but it fail at the gentleness.

    Girl on girl bonding is more appealing to both guys and girls, than guy on guy bonding.

    I've never been interested in guys, so my opinion may not count tho ^_^ #kotakutalkradio
