@n00b_pwner: Because the DSi, in every way besides the lacking GBA slot, is much much better, and I'm assuming they want to get its image out there as much as possible. I doubt you'll see/hear much about the old iPhones once the new ones come out, but that doesn't mean the support stops.
Son of a... I just spent a month scouring the globe for one of these then when I finally find one Gamestop immediately announces it will start stocking them at $10 less. D:
I had a 3 man jam session with this over xmas break. We all linked our DS's up wirelessly and it syncs everyone up so the beats match. Great fun.
And the crazy sounds that we made.... I swear my friends DS was talking at certain points and no I wasn't high. Any program where I have to make that qualification is awesome.
I am an electronic musician and I have tried every homebrew music app I could get my hands on. While there are some good ones they are usually confined to doing one thing well and none of them come close to what you can do with korg ds-10.
Of course if you're serious how about throwing a name out there?
@RoboticSpacePenguin: Atlest With the Nitro program you can record and edit your own sounds and vocals with the microphone and load and edit your own samples. In wave or mp3 format.
Yeah but does NitroTracker do proper synthesis like the Korg MS-10? No. It's a tracker and that's just about it. The Korg DS-10 is all about synthesis and at the moment there's nothing else like it on the DS homebrew scene.
Ahhh the MS2000 such a lovely synth. It's one of my favorite synths from Korg. I even like the MS-20 and the MS-10 ... as they can sound pretty raw and awesome (especially with a RAT distortion pedal).
I don't need an excuse I have it since it came out in Euroland! Sadly I have yet to implement it in any of my songs ( [shiryumusic.no.sapo.pt] ) but its a ton of fun to make patterns on the move!
16 banks per song! That's plenty for a full track. Plus if you were feeling saucy you can just sample some loops from the DS-10 and put your own track together that way.
I've tried it but didn't really like it. Though there's a lot of options for creating the number of sound samples is pretty small and the whole program is kinda like demo - it feels like many useful features are absent. Personally I prefer Daigasso Band Brothers DX to Korg DS-10.
Are you kidding me? KORG DS-10 simulates several of KORG's original equipment and does it good. So what you're saying that the tools that a lot of electronic music maker are using is limited and lacks useful features. What kind of features is it you miss? I think you simply doesn't understand what KORG DS-10 actually is. It's not a game or a create-your-own-music-by-loading-presets.... The samples are there to be inspired by and see the potential. KORG DS-10 is about you creating your own sounds and patterns not loading already-made presets.
There are no samples in the Korg DS-10 what you are hearing is synthesis. And there's a fuckton of options for sounds on it just like there is on my Korg MS-10. If you learn how to use it properly it's a badass program. Truly it isn't for everyone.
I've become so fed up lately with all these "instruments" where to make music all you have to do is press a point on the screen. When I was little, our toy instruments were just bad sounding casio keyboards. Now all you do is tilt your iphone a little bit and you're "making" music.
You can make music by humming, whistling, or drumming your fingers on a desk. I think so long as the output is still really based on the input of the user and not just canned, then making the tools to create any art more accessible is a positive thing.
It's still a far cry from being a professional musician, and a world from being an audio engineer, but it's an extremely positive thing giving a creative outlet to the masses.

No thanks, I'll pass again. It's still laughable compared to what the homebrewers have made.

I am saddened at my inability to read that.

I'm inclined to agree with that statement.

I am not sure if they have this on DS cards, but they should not to exclude any customers.

I was hoping they'd go with DS-20 or something.
Even 11 would make sense.

If you enjoy making music at all, you should buy this.

Best not to think about it I suppose...

He probably doesn't know much about proper synthesis. Not many people do.

its sounds more like ambience than a song.
