Inferno Pool pits up to four online or local players against each other, trying to clear their pool table while their opponents fire balls at them. It's just like regular pool, only with alliances, betrayals, fire, and explosions. Truth be told, it sounds far more interesting than normal pool, through you can still play a regular game if you aren't up to the challenge.

Inferno Pool was released last year on the PlayStation Network in the UK and Europe, but has yet to hit North American or Asian PS3 consoles. Developer Dark Energy Digital has teamed up with Koch Media to deliver the game to the Xbox Live Arcade service next Wednesday, October 28th, in both North America and Asia. Go figure.

Find out more about the game at the official website, where two videos will start playing at once automatically when you load the page. Classy!

<![CDATA[Scenes From A Prison Break]]> We know what the television show Prison Break looks like, but what about the video game adaptation of said show? Take a look-see.

If you look closely at this set of screenshots for Deep Silver and Koch Media's Prison Break game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, you will indeed see a prison. Delve further, and you might catch a glimpse of a man trying to break out of said prison. Looks like developer Zootfly completely nailed this one!

<![CDATA[Prison Break: The Video Game Busts Out]]> Another piece of licensed flotsam recovered from the crash of Brash Entertainment have been recovered, as Deep Silver and Koch Media announce, officially, the video game version of Fox's Prison Break.

Slovenian developer Zootfly, made famous for their work on Panzer Elite Action and that Ghostbusters video game concept, will be the ones responsible for the Prison Break game. It's due to be released on PC and "next generation consoles." Which, we assume, actually means current generation consoles, like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The game was unofficially announced last summer, via a Prison Break DVD insert. Then the Brash "business" model went to pot and left developer Zootfly in the lurch. Now everything's just peachy again.

Prison Break, the video game, will put players in the lace-less shoes of Tom Paxton in a storyline that runs parallel to the television show's first season.

<![CDATA[Carcassonne Coming To A DS Near You]]> Classic German board game Carcassonne - which has already turned up on Xbox Live Arcade - will also soon be making the leap to the Nintendo DS, courtesy of Koch Media.

This DS version will contain the original board game along with expansion "River", but also expands upon this by introducing three new "worlds", described as Asian, Nordic and Arabic. There'll be straight-up multiplayer, either via single or multi-cart, as well as a story mode.

It's due sometime later this year.

<![CDATA[Freshly Picked Risen Screens]]> The team behind the Gothic series have picked a winning batch of screenshots to represent their upcoming PC and Xbox 360 role-playing game, Risen.

Piranha Byte's Risen was revealed last August before the Leipzig Games Festival in German, and since then...well, we hadn't heard much. So far we know that the game takes place on a volcanic island filled with mysterious ruins and bizarre creatures, with the player character shipwrecked and forbidden to leave.

I suppose we know a bit more now that we've seen these screens. For instance, judging by the top picture, it looks like Piranha Byte's signature humor is intact, and a series of same shot, different time of day screens tell us that there will indeed be a day and night cycle. And trees. And a little blacksmithing.

Check out the full gallery below to get a better feel for Risen, rising on the 360 and PC sometime later this year.
