The new content will cost you 800 Microsoft Points and 500+ megs of hard disk space, but considering yesterday's news there's no way I can possibly avoid picking up Knothole Island. I've missed that little furry bastard far too much.

No, that's not a spoiler. I call everybody furry little bastard.

<![CDATA[Fable II's Knothole Island Brings Good Things To Life]]> Without spoiling more than I already have, a post over on the Fable II dev blog indicates that players disappointed by their particular ending can find solace at Knothole Island's mysterious resurrection shrine.

Before you continue on, I warn you....this post could very well ruin the ending of Fable II for you, but it wouldn't be my fault. Blame Sam Van Tilburgh over at the Fable 2 Development blog, who name checks us in the post where he draws readers' attentions towards one particular bullet point on the Knothole Island page. "Unravel the mystical secrets of the resurrection shrine." Now what could that possibly mean, Sam?

Now I'm not going to spoil Knothole Island for you either, so while I can't really say a thing (or the infamous PR police will hunt me down and kill me to death), I think it'd be fair to say that you won't be playing Knothole Island without a trusty friend on four legs....

I actually shed real tears of joy just now. Damn you, Molyneux.

<![CDATA[Fable II DLC Achievements Revealed]]> Achievement mongers, you'll have three more in Fable II, worth a combined 100 gamerscore points. The nature of these achievements seems to be a gentle prod to play multiplayer more.

Fable II Knothole Island is available for download Dec. 22. Here's what you'll be gunning for if you get it:

• The Collector (25GS) — Acquire all the mystery items in The Box of Secrets shop, or see another Hero do so.
• The Meteorologist (50GS) — Bring all of Knothole Island's weather problems under control, or help another Hero to do so.
• The Bibliophile (25GS) — Find all the books detailing the history of Knothole Island, or help another Hero to do so.

So, if any of these three elude you, but you have a pal almost there, I guess hanging around when he bags it is good enough. "Dude! You were about to get the last mystery item and you didn't call me? The hell?"

<![CDATA[First Fable II Premium DLC Revealed]]> Making good on last week's promise of big news, Lionhead has announced the first premium downloadable content for their hit sequel Fable II. Launching in mid-December, the Knothole Island downloadable content pack features will see the player journeying to the titular landmass, where they will have to undergo the trials of the three shrines to bring the dying island back to life. There are new quests to undertake, bizarre new characters to interact with, and new items to dress up your saint or sinner with. Along with the Knothole Island pack, which will run 800 MS points, they'll also be releasing a free pack that will allow owners of the premium content to play co-op with those without.

Note that both packs will come with special gifts for downloaders, including Knight's Boots, Assassin's gloves, a collectible silver book, and a weight loss potions, perfect for those sick of hunting down celery every time they eat a damn pie.
