Calling it the "Wii Game" is the real problem. It's the reason Nintendo has such a poor attach rate. A lot of people (people I know, scarily enough) don't even realize it does more than Wii Sports. Wii Fit has worked toward fixing this, but there are still quite a few people out there that think the Wii is simply a box that comes with Wii Sports and plays Wii Sports exclusively.
Hasselhoff has always came off as sort of pathetic to me, so using his "celebrity," his daughter AND his alcoholism to score a "Wii game" doesn't surprise me at all. But the guy bragging about it does come as a bit of a shock.
That would be so awesome to take the Hoff on with the Knightrider theme. It could be a reality. Knowing Activision, they'll be announcing Guitar Hero: Television Theme Songs Edition any day now!
That, of course, counts a controller (AKA - "Wii Play"). What is the PS3 attach rate, anyway? I own 10 games for the Wii and have MadWorld ordered. I don't even want to say how many games I have for the 360, because it's getting bloody damn ridiculous. I own 2 games for the PS3, but haven't owned a PS3 for quite a while, which would explain the shortage.
If there was a game or system you really wanted and you could play the "I'm a celebrity" card as soon as yopu could if it meant you would get the game/system. Don't pretend you wouldn't.
@KenseiKitsune: Dude, i'd do it for everything... groceries, dvd rentals, cinema tickets hell i'd even do it taking leaflets off of guys in the street. "Gimme that coupon for a free brake check, don't you know who I am?"
@DMC-Man: I imagine that's what the Hoff sees when he's plastered with booze.
@Methusalah: Hilarious? Why it's the most awesome thing ever! And by awesome I mean it's something you can scare men with to turn them into dribbling idiots...=D
@Bialia: No one's late to the punch when it comes to the Hoff! =D
@Bialia: Not here, I don't think. Especially if its often sold out. I think its some kind of store policy. I mean, for the most part, the stores don't want to do it because they don't want to lose a sale just in case you didn't show up and someone else wanted it.
I really have no interest in Burnout at all but I can't help but be constantly impressed by all the work that Criterion are putting into the DLC even after all this time. They seem like a wonderfully passionate team.
@Bernard McGraw: Well... it's probably just that racing games are not your thing, huh?
No worries. I suppose they're not really mine, either. But I wanted to shake up my routine of RPGs, Strategy, and Adventure games, and recently picked up a few things outside of my normal realm (first of which was The Orange Box... second of which was Burnout Paradise). Now, admittedly, it was the announcement of the DLC that drew me in, I'm a sucker for DeLoreans, and since I can't afford a real one at this time, getting one in a game will do.
But seeing the true passion of this team has been quite inspiring for me, as well. I was more than certain EA had taken to not giving half a crap on what their studios put out, and were content with releasing the same thing every year with some minor tweaks... but in many ways, I think they see they can make more money by not only doing things that make their customers happy (adding content to the existing game) but also allowing their developers to be creative. It's some fun downloadable content that I'm certain not only was fun to make, but is also going to be fun for us to play with.
Truly and honestly, I would love to see more studios do this sort of thing, it just seems like an all-around good thing.
@Takara_Kitsune: That's it really, the only games that don't grab my attention/hold my interest are racing/sports titles. The only racing games I've ever really loved were Diddy Kong Racing and Ridge Racer on the PSP. I don't understand Burnout; I might just be wrong but when I've played iterations in the series, you're rewarded for racing and crashing, and I never really could grasp how it worked because the two seem to be in conflict. Just frustrated me.

The Wii has the highest attach rate of any console out there. Don't quite know where you got your facts...

You're calling shame on this?

See that and gasp in horror!
I admit he was funny in Click though.
I assume Germans dig him because of all the war and suffering they've been through...That would've made them immune to his music.
I kid about the German dig! god knows I don't want this thread to about nationality and whatnot. =D

it really isnt that hard to get a wii

This happened over a year ago. Does anyone read the article anymore?

Wouldn't any decent store hold something for you for as little as 30 minutes? Methinks he over estimates his "influence"...

@Cojo21: God damn it, even the thumbnail of that video is too much.
Who among us hasn't gotten hammered and molested a cheeseburger like that? ;)

I think rehab may help him more than a wii, as well.
