At the time of posting, it says right at the top that the actress will be appearing in the Tekken movie. This is incorrect, she says. She won't.

While I was interviewing Chiaki for an upcoming book I'm doing on Japanese schoolgirls (second book — hooray!), I brought up gaming at the end of the interview while making chitchat. Best known in the West for her work in Kill Bill and Battle Royale, Chiaki appeared in Resident Evil 5 TV ads in Japan, so I thought it was suitable small talk.

"I like Zelda," she told me. "I also like role-playing games. Hrm, what else... I like Gyakuten Saiban. Do you know Gyakuten Saiban?"

Yes, yes I do.

She went on to say that she really likes puzzle games as well. When I brought up her rumored role as Ling Xiaoyu in the Tekken movie, she told me, "I'm not in the Tekken. Everyone's been saying to me, 'Hey, Tekken! You're in Tekken?' And I'm like 'bwah?' People have been saying this to me for a while — is the movie done yet? I don't know where this rumor is from."

Wherever it's from, it's not true, she said. No Chiaki Kuriyama in the Tekken movie — according to Chiaki Kuriyama, that is.

<![CDATA[The Making of the Kill Bill 360 Casemod]]>
Well, we've seen a Kill Bill Guitar Hero guitar before, so a 360 casemod is not all that surprising. But this one is very well done and, furthermore, was accomplished by Kotakuite Chu Boi, who shows his work on his blog. It's got some great touches, such as the blood spatter across the faceplate, and the stenciled movie quote on the underside.

Probably a good thing he violated his warranty by disassembling the machine (which already RRoD'd, and somehow received a second heat sink in the process) as I doubt he'd want to send this work of art off to be scrubbed clean or replaced. Of course that means no chance for the rest of us to randomly get this as a refurb unit. And how cool would that be.

<![CDATA[The Kill Bill GH Guitar]]> Inspired by yesterday's Evil Dead guitar, artist Jonathan Nagle sent in this pic of his sweet customized Kill Bill guitar. Whenever I see these custom controllers I always think "Hey, I could do that!" I've even gotten as far as pulling the paints out and putting newspaper down but them I chicken out . Knowing my luck I would render the thing completely hideous and unusable. I suppose I could do a test run on one of these old PS2 GH guitars. It's not like I'll ever be able to use them on my PS3... (and before you comment in saying there is an adapter, I tried it and it's shite)

<![CDATA[Mario Bros Kill Bill]]>

Someone who was definitely smoking something inserted Mario Brothers sound effects into a scene from Kill Bill Volume One. Very strange, but it did make me realize that not nearly enough Mario games end with nail-studded planks of wood thudding into skulls.
