It asked you to decided the final title. Which is...

...Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble, the option I voted for in Atlus' online poll. Turns out, that option won by a landslide.

"The title was voted in by a 3-to-1 margin, which means that fans strongly felt it was the best fit for the game, or, that they all giggled uncontrollably at the sight of the word 'badass,'" said Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales for Atlus. "Either way, everybody wins, except of course for the titles not chosen."

We can find no other traces of a video game released in North American that managed to worked the word "badass" into its title, which would be an impressive first for Atlus.

The game is due to hit the PSP in early 2010, so there's plenty of time for Imagine: Badass to be it to retail.

<![CDATA[Atlus Brings High School Brawler Kenka Bancho Stateside, Needs Help]]> Publisher Atlus will be bringing the PSP brawler Kenka Bancho 3 stateside in "early 2010," the company announced today, giving English speakers a chance to emit intimidating eye-lasers at lesser foes while sporting awesome haircuts.

The third in Spike's series of bad-ass brawlers, Kenka Bancho 3 will take players on a high school class trip to a historic Japanese city where people will be punched and kicked in the face. Hands will be kept coolly in pockets until such time as someone needs a good beating, then said beatings will ensue, all for good reason. There's a story woven in between all that hand-to-hand violence, as well as great eyebrows, afros, and other choice grooming options.

Atlus is also soliciting help in choosing a Western appealing name for Kenka Bancho 3 via online survey. The options include Badass and Bancho Royale but should really stop and start with Badass Rumble. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear potential customers can suggest their own names, including my own, My Eye-Laser Training Coach.

Granted, I've never played one of the Kenka Bancho games on the PlayStation 2, due to the language barrier, but I'm still recommending that you pay attention to it. Why? Well, why not?

Here's a trailer of the Japanese release that might give you a better idea what this whole thing is about.

<![CDATA[Laser Eye Beam FIGHT]]> Developer Spike is back with another bosozoku adventure. That's right, Kenka Bancho 3 is coming to the PSP. The game, which features a high school gang leader who has a laser eye beam, looks like the PS2 titles that proceeded it. Man, I wish i had a laser eye beam in high school — heck, now even. The game features 2 player ad-hoc play and will be out this November in Japan. So there ya go.
