I'm still excited either way! It's been too long since I've watched a good HK gun-fest film! As long as the absurd gun porn and outrageous reloads are there then so am I!
If they want to make this anything like how 99% of gamers experienced Stranglehold, it'll have to have nothing but slow-motion crotch-shot after slow-motion crotch-shot.
Admit it, you all spammed the hell out of the Precision Aiming Tequila Bomb. :p
Geez. I expected it to be cheesy with Woo directing it, but at least Woo is that fun, memorable kind of cheesy in his movies. Now it's just going to suck ass. Why? Because now it's just a game movie, and ALL GAME MOVIES SUCK ASS.
A new Dynasty Warriors game?! AMAZING! Am I the only person excited for it?
I've been following Red Cliff for a while, and while I dont think I will be importing this (the fees must be through the roof for that awesome collectors edition...) I will definitely wait until it comes over here later in the year.
Not quite the 'latest', considering Red Cliff 2 was in cinemas when I left China in January! (and was the most highly advertised product I've seen in my life. Nothing was left unmarked by this film's release)
So yeah, the sequel's pretty popular, so I have been meaning to see the original. This only tempts me further.
@Stevil_T: Don´t forget Takeshi Kaneshiro too. But yeah, Tony Leung is one of my favorite Hong Kong actors right now (along with Andy Lau) i really liked him in Infernal Affairs and 2046 (i haven´t seen In the Mood for Love :(). He´s awesome.
@PhageLab: That´s true. Hero is one of the best movies ever and has the best characters in a wuxia film i´ve ever seen. I hope Hollywood stays away from this one, although seeing the rumors that Sam Raimi wants to remake "House of Flying Daggers", i guess it´s a matter of time for them to fuck it up. Or for me to kill Sam Raimi.
2046 is part of an informal trilogy of movies, in fact it's the last installment. So you should watch "Days Of Being Wild" first, then "In The Mood For Love" and finally "2046". It's such a great trilogy, and truly one of the best dramas out there.

Version heading west will be a gimped version from the two movies, made into a single one, instead of two. And only 2,5 hours long.

WHAAAAAT?! Fuck that noise. I love quite a lot of Sam's movies, but he needs to stay the fuck away from that movie.
