Maybe if you Republicans weren't so butt-hurt about not making health care accessible and ludicrously claiming our president isn't an American citizen you'd be an effective political force again.
I just hope Mr. Ward is one of those pro-market Republicans and not those Taliban-wannabes that ran your beloved party to the ground, and maybe, just maybe we'll find a balance in the Force.

One last thing. Please don't assume that I am "butt-hurt" over something that you don't even know. It's always fun to lump everyone together and stereotype, I know, but please refrain. Just because some people think one thing does not mean I feel the same way. I can think myself, thank you. As for you, I'm not so sure, as you seem to like making silly assumptions and attacking Republicans as if you've got it programmed into you.

However, I wasn't describing the state of political/religious debate on Kotaku in general, I pointed out how few posts in this article actually bashed the Republican party. As for whether or not he ruined LucasArts, well, let's just say one's taste in games is far more subjective than one's political or spiritual views.
As for my "silly assumptions," they are very reality-based on information that doesn't have a blatant right (or left, even) slant. Just because your personal politics doesn't square with the Republican party's line doesn't mean I can't attack said party line.

Point taken. There weren't really many posts bashing the party, but I felt they were bashing the guy because of his party. And I agree that taste in games is definitely subjective.

I see what you're saying here as well. I just didn't want you to think I was going along with everything the party does. You can criticize the party all you want, I just didn't want you to be spiteful towards me for something I didn't do. Sorry if I came across a bit rude. I don't usually comment on things like this, and I believe I commented out of frustration instead of trying to be a bit more clear and level-headed.

However, seeing as we are heading straight towards (or one could argue already deeply ensconced in) a corporation dominated oligarchy, the idea of corporate executives seeking public office is a touch scary. Though I suppose it's no scarier than actors, otherwise unqualified sons of politicians, and former porn stars getting elected based purely on their marketing strategies...
Let's just hope he isn't a dyed in the wool ultra-conservative, because the US Congress still has too many of those flopping about. If he's a smart moderate with some good ideas, then more power to him. If he's going to be another party-line towing mouthpiece, then have fun with, Arizona.

Change that actually simplifies the ever-increasing complexity of our federal government, particularly our tax code. - Lower taxes.
Change that limits the growing federal intrusion into our state, freeing us to be dynamic and innovative so that we can create solutions to our own problems without bureaucrats in Washington telling us what to do. - Federal Deregulation.
Change that prevents government from coming between all of us and our freedoms so that we can build the best solutions for education on a local basis, - School vouchers/privatization.
determine the best options for our health care directly with our physician, - Anti-government subsidized health insurance or "public option"/single-payer systems/government provided healthcare.
maintain the right to cast a secret ballot in our own workplace - Anti-EFCA/unions.
and make fiscally responsible decisions so that we don’t mortgage the future of our children. - Nominally anti-bailout, pro-tax/spending cuts. Probably a liar.
Diagnosis: Conservative taking vague, noncommittal stands on nebulous issues focusing on the economy because that is where the attention is and where he can score big points.

So, he was brought in to make the company profitable again. Makes sense... Except that in rebuilding the company from scratch his policies resulted in another 100 employees being laid off in 2008 because he didn't prioritize getting games done on schedule or within budget.
Making games 'Kickass' is a good ideal, but if you don't know what you are doing it really doesn't mean anything... He was head of marketing for LucasFilm before taking over LucasArts. Not really the optimal resume to rebuild a video game company with.
