Oh, and your mother is not a whore.

Strange that this video should be released after the game has already been out for nearly two months. Stranger still that it's one of the more amusing installments, and might have helped a bit.

<![CDATA["Eddie Riggs" Pimps Brutal Legend On Jimmy Kimmel Live]]> Rarely have we seen a promotional force as ripped as Jack Black... as Brutal Legend's Eddie Riggs. Black took his otherworldly game pimping powers to Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show yesterday, showing the set's furniture who's the boss.

It's one of the more epic Jack Black talk show appearances, an impressive, no holds barred attempt at selling a few more copies of Double Fine's Brutal Legend to the Jimmy Kimmel Live-watching masses. I'm not really sure how Black's speech has been so heavily affected, but you have to give the man credit for getting into his character.

The appearance spans four separate clips, should have you have the constitution to handle it.

<![CDATA[Jack Black Talks Gaming, Giving Devs the Finger]]> In an interview with USA Today, comedian and video game star Jack Black talks about his gaming roots and the today's release of Brutal Legend, starring him.

Black says he got his start playing games in the mid 70s with Space Invaders. Hey! So did I, sorta.

Scramble and Marble Madness are among his favorites, but his proudest gaming moment was playing and completely beating Project Gotham Racing. So why did he send a picture of himself giving the finger to Bizarre Creations?

More importantly did they frame it and can we see... please?

<![CDATA[Jimmy Fallon, Jack Black Talk Brutal Legend, Workin' Out]]> Jimmy Fallon was at the MTV Video Music Awards. So was Jack Black, in character, as Brutal Legend's Eddie Riggs. Rolling Stone caught up with them as they asked the obvious questions.

Sadly, Rolling Stone's video player isn't embeddable, so you'll have to hit the link below to watch it. It's about, oh, a third of the way in.

<![CDATA[Jack Black Cosplays at Video Music Awards]]> Did you watch the Video Music Awards last night?

I didn't, which means I missed a bit of Jack Black cosplay.

Never mind the whole Kanye West/Taylor Swift imbroglio or the Lady Gaga performance blood bath, I didn't get a chance to see Black walk the carpet as Brutal Legend hero Eddie Riggs.

MTV Multiplayer's Russ Frushtick says Black was wearing a muscle shirt, head banger's wig and sporting a ginormous ax. He really should have brought a legion of Headbangers with him to complete the look.

<![CDATA[New Brutal Legend Gameplay Delivered By Guitar Playing Cat]]>
Is it just me or does Jack Black seem to be running out of things to say about Brutal Legend? I mean, a cat playing a guitar?

The video does deliver nearly half a minute of new Brutal Legend gameplay and a few seconds of Black headbanging. That's something.

<![CDATA[Jack Black Has An Axe To Grind]]> The image associated with this post is best viewed using a browser. There's nothing quite as terrifying as Jack Black swinging around a giant battle axe, as evidenced by episode 4 of Brutal Thoughts with Jack Black.

Eddie Riggs wields a battle axe with skill and grace in Brutal Legend. Jack Black, on the other hand, kills the boom operator. Are you kids out there getting the picture? Just because it's okay for a video game character to run around killing things with stylized medieval weaponry doesn't mean you should. The only time you should wildly swing around bladed weapons is under controlled circumstances. Or when you're really drunk. Let this be a lesson.

<![CDATA[Brutal Thoughts with Jack Black]]> Jack Black hams it up in the first of a series of live-action shorts promoting Brutal Legend, with a guest appearance by insane game developer Tim Schafer.

I don't know about you, but for me it's gotten to the point where I prefer to see animated characters with Jack Black's voice over actually seeing Jack Black himself. I really dig his voice when he's singing, but there's something about his facial expressions when he acts that begs to be covered by a computer animated panda or video game roadie.

Oh, and watch out for the vomit. Too late?

<![CDATA[Jack Black Craps Ping Pong Balls for VGA]]>

Jack Black's hosting Spike's 2008 "Video Game Awards" (their quotes, not mine). Here are a couple promos goofing on mo-cap. Being clever works. Poop jokes always work. And ping-pong peepees = can't-miss crowd pleaser.

Death by eagle? Oh come on, Jack, don't make me beg you to do a Falcon Punch. Come on, you down with OP IP? UPDATE: For some reason, GameTrailers moved or took down the original, plus the death sequences, so we now have the versions hosted at Spike's Web site. But on the jump there's a third GT promo video featuring more ping pong ball-shitting.

The 2008 VGA are next Sunday, 9 PM EST on, of course, Spike TV.

<![CDATA[2008 VGAs To Feature Jack Black, God Of War III, Uncharted 2]]> What, no Samuel L. Jackson? Spike has tapped musician and actor Jack Black to their 2008 Video Game Awards, which will feature world premiers of God of War III, Uncharted 2, and many more.

Depending on which version of Jack Black shows up, this could be the first Spike Video Game Awards I actually remember to tune into. If we are getting Tenacious D Jack, I'm in. Kung Fu Panda Jack, not so much. Black will not only be hosting the awards, but also premiering his video game Brütal Legend at the show, sharing the stage with exclusive premieres of God of War III, Fight Night Round 4, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 2, Watchmen: The End is Nigh, and Mafia II. The press release also teases a special Gears of War 2 announcement and "other surprises."

Tune in to Spike TV on Sunday, December 14th at 9PM Eastern to catch the show live.

<![CDATA[Jack Black's Immensely Helpful Brütal Legend Update]]> It's been awhile since we've heard anything about Tim Schafer's Brütal Legend, which stars Jack Black as a heavy metal roadie who bleeds into his cursed belt buckle and is transported to Nordic Heavy Metal land. Lucky for us, MTV Multiplayer has the scoop directly from Black himself, who attended the recent MTV Music Awards wearing a Brütal Legend t-shirt and...well, just read.

“I just wanted to represent. I do this video game ‘Brutal Legend.’ It’s coming someday. And these pants are pantaloons. And I went with these purple people eaters [shoes].”

There you have it folks! Mark someday on your calendars and get ready to rock!

Multiplayer did at least manage to contact Sierra spokesman Tom Stratton, who for the most part told him the same thing, more or less, adding that more details would be made available soon. Someday soon. I can't wait!

<![CDATA[Kids' Choice Awards Choose Poorly]]> On Sunday, March 29th, rock and roll hero and sometimes actor Jack Black returns to the Nickelodeon stage to host the 21st Annual Kids' Choice Awards, where the stupid children decide who wins the awards! Now I know there are some pretty smart children out there, but they are all busy playing games like Portal or BioShock (with their stupid parents proudly ignoring them in the other room), thus the nominees for the 2008 Favorite Video Game Award:

Dance Dance Revolution
Guitar Hero
High School Musical: Sing It!
Madden NFL '08
There's really not much I can say here. I mean, Guitar Hero is nice and all, but they just list Guitar Hero...not II or III. Same with Dance Dance Revolution. There are 20 bajillion versions of DDR out there. Pick one! Madden 08 just goes to show that they were running out of kid-friendly titles to nominate, and if High School Musical: Sing It! wins? I am driving over to my nephew's house and smacking him upside the head just for associating with people his own age.

<![CDATA[Jack Black's First Brutal Legend Song]]>

OK, the video of the mystery record ended up being super rambly, and at one point is interrupted by the UPS lady dropping off a package on my doorstep, but I suck at video editing, so sorry.

:)

I still can't make out the words, but it certainly says Brutal Legend and maybe something else too. Let me know if you want me to just do a straight up video of the song playing all the way through and I can add that here later.

I believe this might be the most annoying video I've every uploaded, but that doesn't mean I won't out do it one day.

<![CDATA[Double Fine Readying Jack Black Attack?]]> International House Of Mojo, a site primarily focused on LucasArts, Double Fine and Telltale Games coverage, recently ran a rumor on Tim Schafer and Double Fine's unannounced next game. Dubbed Brutal Legend, the game allegedly stars actor and musician Jack Black as a roadie who dies, is banished to Hell and must claw his way to Rock 'N Roll Heaven.

The game is rumored to be revealed at next week's Games Convention in Leipzig, where Schafer will be keynoting on creativity. Of course, this is all rumor, as IHOM has since retracted its story, but it should be noted that Black has recently been spotted sporting the above pictured Whispering Rock Spring Summer Camp t-shirt from Double Fine's previous effort Psychonauts.

<![CDATA[Video: Jack Black Playing PGR3]]>

The Xbox crew videoed Jack Black's recent Game with Fame session. The look on Black's face is priceless when he hits his first game and the first thing he hears is "What's up Jack rock ooooon!" Yeah, that's your fan base buddy.

The video ends with Black saying "It's no secret I'm a gamer. My skills are sharp. My skills are extremely sharp." Yeah, but we don't see you wrapping your girly hands around the controller for a little Halo 2, do we?

<![CDATA[Kick The Crap Out Of Jack Black in Live]]> nacholibre.jpgLike me, his mother and the entire graduating class of his high school, you probably would really like to just beat the crap out of Jack Black. And now you can! Following in the footsteps of Lennox Lewis, Black is a different kind of heavyweight champion who will be taking on gamers online. The game? Project Gotham Racing 3.

All you have to do to get a chance to kick the snot out of Nacho Libre himself is go to XBox.com and fill out an entry form. A lucky few will not only Black's gamer tag and the ability to make him eat their dust, but a private screening of his latest film in their hometown. - Florian Eckhardt
