Really looking forward to this and it's a great sign that they were able to push up the release by a week. This should mean there'll be minimal issues that need to be patched at launch.
@uzivatel: How's it worse? The game coming out earlier is nearly surely a sign that the game is running great for them and they're out of beta which means they now have an extra week for testing further for bugs so that a launch day patch isn't needed to play the game.
@Yossarian: Well, if you look into it more, the title it has now when accompanied by the picture is more subliminal. It looks like something is going to get 'pushed up' in that picture.
Some leaked video shows 360 buttons at a menu. So odds are it will be on the 360.
On that note, why get it for the 360? Try Operation Flashpoint and then try Operation Flaspoint for the xbox. The game is more of an engine an players are there to script the missions themselves, and the xbox will minimize the potential.
@Kocrachon: It's possible it's compatible with the 360 joypad. With the joypad on the PC, any games that officially support it shows the buttons when using it.
I can see the 360 getting a port after a while though.
@Kocrachon: I might. I have a very powerful PC (not best of the bunch powerful, but still powerful enough to run everything except Crysis at max settings fine) but I just do not like PC gaming. When I was younger I did, but now anything off of 360 feels so detached..
I dunno. I used to live by M&K, now I hate using anything but the 360 controller (which I will obv use if it supports it). +
@Hooligunn: I'm quite the opposite. I find I can only use a controller for so long these days before I have to put it down. I used to only use controllers for gaming though.
I doubt ArmA II would hit 360 if ArmA was anything to go by, it would mean dumbing down almost everything. Its a simulation in every way you can imagine.
Check the BIS official forums, while BIS has not confirmed (nor denied) a video was already leaked showing the xbox keys to choose your menu options (press X to try, press a to view).
They did deny a PS3 version would ever happen. So its safe to say it IS going to be on the xbox
@Kocrachon: Like I said already, using a 360 joypad on a PC game that supports it will have the 360 keys show up in game for anything that requires them to appear.
There hasn't been any announcement or hint of an announcement for a 360 version and given the nature of ArmA, it's likely but not certain that the game will remain a PC exclusive.
Another reason a PC exclusive is likely is that PC>360 is extremely straigh-forward so if there was going to be a 360 port it'd most likely be at launch day which is only a month away.
Are these Wii/DS points? Doesn't 100 points=US $1?
So if it's a single point, then you're getting each for a single penny. There's a good chance I'm totally off here since I only deal in the magical currencies of MS Points and Steam Points (aka real cash).
@Parsifal: Yeah, that's how I read it. But it sems like a bad purchase. Buy 100 points, spend 9 of them...now you've got 91 points you'll NEVER get rid of because everything in the Wii Shop is based around units of 100.
At only a "point" each, that's not breaking the bank. But since there's no physical storage for the DS...that means you're truly paying for content that's already in the game.
@TRT-X: I should add that while DLC is cool for stuff like new maps, new levels, and new songs...this to me seems like it could throw the online community into a bit of turmoil.
Because these new creatures sound pretty "powerful", which means you're introducing the ability for the gamer to essentially buy their way to success vs. working within the game itself.
Reminds me of the weapon "upgrade" some FPS or another was going to try and sell through DLC that was quickly shot down.
This is such an awesome competition. The creativity and ingenuity seen in this is on a whole new level of "Oh Shit!". If I had the time, I would play through every single one of the thirty-five entries.
@CaffeineKnight: No, but I know that I won't really have the proper amount of time to dedicate towards it until this weekend. I'm definitely looking forward to it though.

And I think this covers the DLC "pricing":

Though I can't imagine bands would be to happy if Activision or EA said "Well, we're not going to charge "real" money for your songs".
This is kinda like using in-game currency to buy new in-game items. But it allows them to expand the list of unlockables at no additional charge.
This went from being a worrisome idea to a pretty kickass one.

So like, the creatures already in the game? Like if they were to offer Pikachu or something for Pokemon?

Has anyone played Violet?
