    UGH this is one thign I hate about the PS3. I mean most games I have just take a chunk out of my PS3's hard drive, wasn't Blu-Ray enough? I might as well have bough a 20GB 360 since I have under that amount left now, they might as well release games like MGS 4 on 360 and install whatever can't fit onto the hard drive, then we can call it evens for both systems.

    Wouldn't that make the problem worse? Do they mean uninstalling some demos?

    @bakagaijin: man it really is. i figured from the videos that id dig it more than prototype.. but i played prototype with an open mind.. and yeah.. thats a no go for me. its just not that fun to me.. it all came off as pointless violence.. and more repetitive than the repetitive things in infamous.

    I dont see this as much as a problem on the game's part, as it is a problem of the required HD space, right? what exactly is the error here? is it that games dont usually take that much space, or what?

    Or something even crazier like NTSC formatted external hard drives aren't supported!!! CRAYZEE!!!

    Why are there still mandatory installs? If the game has longer load times without it, shouldn't it be my choice as to whether I want longer loads or space taken up on my HDD?

    @Busting makes Mister Jack feel good: I agree, if games like uncharted can do away without mandatory installs, I don't see why other games should have them. Nothing like actually being able to play the game you just bought ASAP.

    @y2julio: uncharted, killzone 2, and i think even LBP were all able to run perfectly and look fantastic without any need of a mandatory install.

    There is also another solution for this problem. You return your copy of Prototype for the PS3 and exchange if for the 360 version. Viola! Problem solved.

    @y2julio: But what if the person doesn't own a 360? Are you telling them to get a 360 as well? That's an expensive solution to a small problem :/

    @Goldwings: Forgot why his avatar is a creepy looking, smili...: but it will pay off for itself in the long run with no mandatory installs. That pisses me off so much on the PS3, I buy a game that I want to play and hello? what's this? A install screen, yay! I really disliked it when I got MGS4, got to see a old man smoking for a good 4 minutes.

    @y2julio: 4 minutes =/= the actual 2 minutes for MGS4.


    also, hell no. I would never suggest someone buy an entire console just because some games have mandatory installs that make the games run faster. (a la GTA4)

    @AllOfUsAreLost. R.O.A.C.H.: Well, that probably isnt infamous's fault, as there probably arent any other reports of this happening. and from what i've seen, games like prototype tend to be the glitchiest. i can see me falling through the ground after a body slam soooooo many times....
