PC gamers looking forward to next month's retail release can busy themselves with a demo for the game starting Monday, September 10th. Featuring the map Valley, which some of you may have seen in the game's public beta, the demo will be at a number of sites, including Yahoo! Games, Nvidia, FilePlanet, Fileshack and more.

Gamers can play online multiplayer against humans or offline against bots as well as host their own online games or LAN shindigs via the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars demo. And speaking of shindigs, it won't get much more happenin' than the IRC party scheduled for Monday's kick off, which will be attended by members of id, Splash Damage and Activision.

The PC system requirements have also been finalized, so check them out, just in case you find yourself in need of a quick weekend hardware upgrade.

<![CDATA[ Lucky Star Gets Lucky with PS2 ]]> luckystaropeninggame.jpg If anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya gets a PS2 game, it would be a dame shame if anime Lucky Star didn't. Fret not! This November, Lucky Star *is* getting a PlayStation 2 title. Players will take on the role of a new, original character, and the title is apparently an "adventure game." Doubt it'll live up to the anime's opener. Heck, the anime doesn't even live up to it!

And yes, hit the jump for the Lucky Star opening.

<![CDATA[ Heavenly Sword Demo Due "Soon" ]]> Mat Hart, head of production on the PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, has been responding to reader questions and feedback on his IGN hosted blog, bringing word of game details and, more importantly, information on a forthcoming demo version of the game. He writes that Ninja Theory is planning on giving PS3 owners an early look at the game any day now, the retail version of which is schedule to ship in 2007.

I can confirm that we are, of course, going to be releasing a demo for Heavenly Sword...and soon! This will be downloadable via the Playstation Network...so keep an eye out for this in the very near future...and i mean very near future!

Hmm. Say like, next week? Possibly the day after Sony's E3 keynote with the regular PlayStation Store update? I'll put my virtual money on that.

Mat also provides some technical details—the game will run in 720p, will not ship with a special edition SKU, will not feature any platforming—and additional insight in his blog.

Welcome to Ninja Theory! [IGN via N4G]
