Namco Bandai is readying yet another batch of downloadable planes for Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation for release tomorrow via Xbox Live, including yet another gaudy, incredibly expensive (400 MS points) IDOLM@STER model and two planes that really do nothing but shoot colored missiles for show purposes. Along with those three, a cheapy Typhoon and a completely free PJ Emblem F-16C, they're also releasing a 400 point pack containing four aircraft from the Razgriz squadron of Ace Combat 5 fame. Hit the jump for more details on the release, or check out the gallery to see the pretty planes that keep fans coming back for more.

Ace Combat 6 - Fires of Liberation

Xbox LiveĀ® Market Place Downloadable Content Available 24 April 2008

Typhoon - ORANGE WING- (300 Microsoft Points)
Monotone Color, Orange Aircraft. A modified sky painting aircraft for shows and exhibitions. This aircraft is equipped with colored smoke missiles. The missile payload has been maximized for show purposes.

Su-47 Berkut - VIOLET WING - (300 Microsoft Points)
Monotone Color, Violet Aircraft. A modified sky painting aircraft for shows and exhibitions. This aircraft is equipped with colored smoke missiles. The missile payload has been maximized for show purposes.

Typhoon - ROT - (200 Microsoft Points)
Ace Combat Zero, Rival Rot Team Aircraft. Extremely agile maneuverability assures this aircraft's dominance in a dogfight. Hindered by low durability, overwhelming attack prowess is its foremost form of defense. The elite Rot Team, led by the "Red Swallow", was charged with maintaining air superiority over Area B7R. The proud and deeply patriotic team leader, soon became the face of the Belkan Air Force.

F-16C Fighting Falcon - PJ EMBLEM - (Free)
Ace Combat Zero, Wingman PJ Aircraft. Increased maneuverability is attained via reductions in armor.
A thorough set of customizations enable this aircraft to adapt quickly to changes in the tide of battle. Initially a member of the Ustio Air Force's Crow Squadron, PJ flew as Galm 2 during the Belkan residual force sweeping operation, Stone Age. Fighting to protect the one's he loved, PJ's sense of justice remained steadfast to the end.

Tornado GR.4 + F-15E Strike Eagle + CFA-44 Nosferatu + F/A-18F SuperHornet - RAZGRIZ (400 Microsoft Points)
The heroes of Ace Combat 5, Razgriz Squadron Aircraft. Advanced accident prevention systems, and high durability have been incorporated into the design to ensure the survival of all squadron members. Known as both heroes and demons, the Razgriz Squadron's drive towards victory smashed all who stood before them. When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself.

Rafale M - THE IDOLMASTER IORI - (400 Microsoft Points)
THE IDOLMASTER, Iori Minase Aircraft. Although her bratty attitude may send you for a loop, once under
your control she may just reward you with a flawless performance. Her characteristic "spoiled sport" attitude is the fuel that keeps her flying, even when she's in a tight spot.

<![CDATA[ IDOLM@STER Sequel Goes Hands-Free ]]> The latest issue of Famitsu reveals that the first IDOLM@STER for the Xbox 360 was so successful with Japanese otaku, the kind that like watching mostly underage anime girls dance about to J-pop tunes, it warrants a sequel. IDOLM@STER: Live For You! is, according to 1UP's interpretation of the article, less of a hands-on experience, dropping the management aspects of the first and becoming more of a video customization tool. Simply pick the grating tune, the thigh-revealing costume and hit the play button. A quick clean up afterward and you're ready for the next session. Sorry, America, no word of a stateside release for you yet.

<![CDATA[ Is This Nerdom's iDOLM@STER Killer? ]]> Pure nerd heroin. Don't think of PC game TimeLeap as a rip-off of Namco's pop idol sim THE iDOLM@STER. No, think of the erotic PC game as an expansion. For those who missed it, Namco's THE iDOLM@STER was by no means an erotic game (though, it did have some saucy dialogue and spicy costumes). A Japanese cult hit of sorts, the game did a decent showing on the Xbox 360 in Japan. TimeLeap hopes to capitalize on that. Besides the standard adult scenes of you-know-what, TimeLeap also features characters rendered in 3D much like THE iDOLM@STER. The pop music is pure saccharine, too. Hit the jump for look at TimeLeap.

She kicks you IN THE FACE.
Not just maids, but dancing and singing maids.
In case you don't have this iDOLM@STER song burned into your brain. Yes, you're welcome. :)

<![CDATA[ THE IDOLM@STER Totally Fake Autographs! ]]>

"Signed" pictures of THE IDOLM@STER's virtual idols. Overheard in-store was a customer asking if those signatures were "real." Does Bandai Namco know how to promote a game or what?

Okay, fat man in sunglasses with beard singing: Not funny. Fat man in sunglasses with beard singing "Go My Way" from Xbox 360's THE IDOLM@STER: Kinda funny. His English message at the end of the song: Hilarious.

<![CDATA[ Idolm@ster With Real Maids ]]>

To celebrate the release of THE IDOLM@STER, our favorite PS3-playing Akihabara maid cafe PSX kicked off cosplay event called *get this* THE M@iDOLM@STER. For 800 yen an hour, gamers can an hour with The IDOLM@STER one of three Xbox 360 consoles. Once again, PSX = otaku heaven!

<![CDATA[ Clips: The Idolm@ster Reimagined As Wrestlers ]]>

Since The Idolm@ster and WWE 2007 SmackDown vs. Raw both share release dates and both appear on the Xbox 360, the internet brings us this. It was whipped up using the "creation mode" in Exciting Pro Wrestling. The song they are singing is of course "GO MY WAY." Of course. After the j-u-m-p, check the The Idolm@ster (or "Imas" as the kiddies here call it) version for comparison and the Mario Paint one for shits and giggles.

<![CDATA[ Coming To Japanese TV Near You, Idolm@ster ]]>

Smash hit arcade game. Announced Xbox 360 game. And soon, anime. Namco's newest otaku cash cow The Idolm@ster will be getting an animated version called Idolm@ster Xenoglossia. The hugely popular game lets players create and manage cute singing sensations. To quote game site Insert Credit, "we are only one step away from going full circle and witnessing a live version with real idols impersonating virtual idols." And that is a step we've already taken, it seems. I'm waiting for the inevitable maid-slash-karaoke bars.

<![CDATA[ Just How Popular Is IDOLM@STER? ]]>

(Know that every single person in the audience has a penis.) To celebrate the one year of Namco's popular arcade card game THE IDOLM@STER, a live concert was held with the shockingly clever title "THE IDOLM@STER 1st ANNIVERSARY LIVE." The concert even did a bit of promotion for the upcoming 360 version, with singers bopping along to game clips.

IDOLM@STER for the 360 shows that Xbox Japan isn't thinking outside the box, but around it, under it, above it and between it. This move seems fair better planned than shelling out big money for big developers to slap only their name on a product they had little to do with. This hugely popular game should help shift more otaku over to the console. Next up, housewives and small children.
