I don't mean the topic, which seems to be what most other people are complaining about. I think it's rather interesting, even if scoring a 8 on the ick meter. Rather, it's the tone this takes.

Snark is funny, but this verges on abusive. The first parenthetical is uncalled for. Not only is it baseless accusation, not only does it imply that she's a failed sex worker, but, even if true as to her actual gender, do you really think that he would do such a thing? Don't you think that a man who envied female prostitutes would know better not to dress like one, if only out of a twisted respect for that supposed "power?"

Next, equating this to lava-ejaculate is hardly sporting. This is garden variety sexual role play. This is up there with fuzzy handcuffs as to mild forms of kink, wildly embraced. This is demonstrably more "mundane" than any sort of furry action, what SL is much more reputed for.

Finally, that last quote is totally out of context. She then goes on to explain why it is she doesn't have, nor doesn't want, a boyfriend. Cut like that it's funny, but it comes off as much more pathetic.

And now, I just notice the "Dude or not a Dude" title. I think the constant refrain of SL posts is that gamers aren't as liberal as they'd like to think themselves. I think that we're also not as imaginative either. There will be, in fact, some SL hookers who are women and are there for the reasons why the interviewee stated. Gamers, however, are trained to be jaded about such things.

While I think that a comment about it would have been good journalism, turning the whole piece into comedy, into derision of some stranger, with the comedic refrain a constant "ha! She's got a dick!" isn't that funny and just plain isn't fair play.

Some part of me (that I would probably know if my psychology professor had half a brain) thinks this kind of interesting. I mean, it's disturbing in nature, wanting to be a prostitute because others desire you. I always figured it's a last resort kind of thing. But to think, he/she is making a profit off of this, and there's a whole subculture on Second Life that either provides or enjoys these services. And considering people live Second Life as, well, a second life, it makes you wonder if people are more tolerant because it's virtual? Is the anonymity what makes it alright? Is it alright?

And what's more interesting about this is when "Paela" states that "it's me that's doing these things, not a character or an actress." I haven't been on Second Life, but it appears most people use it as an escape from their real life, while he/she uses it as an extension... and uses that extension to make a profit by giving guys (and probably some girls) e-boners. What does that say about people?

Yeah, I'm on the back page, so know one will see my long winded comment, but whatever - yeah, Second Life isn't your usual game, but these recent articles do prove that Second Life has something special going on in all of its different subcultures. Makes you think about people differently - do people start Second Lives because they're unhappy, or they feel limited? Do they see it as a game? Is it just an escape?

You guys might see it all as furries and traps, but, from a distance, I'm kind of intrigued.

You guys realize that after the Nuclear Fallout and we're living in bunkers and caves. The only form of communication will be through Second-Life. It'll be a way to live life in a modern world, away from the reality of this wasteland. Much like the Matrix.

You could move away to HOME, but no hookers. Be funny though if Second-Life & HOME hated each other and we started another war in the virtual world and nuked each other. Yeah I know guys. I have too much time to think.

You have written the entire post based on an assumption that you have zero proof of, and is contrary to the original story. So we have to work on the logic it is a real girl who told her story to ign, which really what would be so unusual about that?

You accuse the girl that does this of lying about her gender and also that she couldn't get a boyfriend. I mean how would you feel if the original girl read this? =/ It's basically just slander and could potentially hurt her enjoyment of second life.

I dunno maybe I missed something and greenpixels is known to be a joke site or something. However if not I think your post is simply mean spirited. Just because it's the internet it doesn't mean insulting people is okay.
