Granted, if you are using rigs that are using at least a Clarksfield setting and are bewulf clustering your rigs and cooling them with Nitrogen Oxide, then you might be onto something, lol.

And saying something is a guilty pleasure is just stupid. If you take pleasure in something enough to keep doing it then your obviously not really feeling guilty are you? And why are games and stuff considered guilty anyway? Is that just a way people can do something they like but when asked about it by others they can play it down as to not sound so awful? #alexisraven

Granted, it's a red herring to the reason of posting, since recently, Kotaku had been trying to profile female gamers or all kinds, from Frag Girls and beyond.
As for the term "guilty pleasure", it is an apt statement if what is described could be termed something that (at least previously) would make you blush or at least would deem a certain decadent delight. The term has different connotations. Sex, for example is a guilty pleasure, even if you get enough of it. Whether you know it or not, certain euphoria is also found in playing games. Again, the term still stands.
So, with all due respect, it is NOT STUPID to call something "guilty pleasure". Even in your rhetorical question " Is that just a way people can do something they like but when asked about it by others they can play it down as to not sound so awful?" you should have figured out the implied meaning, simply from pondering within your inquiry.

Arguably, anything can be said to be pornographic. Take the Resident Evil series, for example. Because of the gratuitous amount of violence, some might see that as obscene. Granted, it seems acceptable.
As for adult entertainment, the filming and review of sexual activity in either real or fictitious scenario is not new to anyone, including the Catholic Christian faith, as even orgies and catalogs of sexuality were at least held within the vatican vaults. Even after the 1600s,when Martin Luther and others challenged the Roman Catholic order of the 95 Theses, print of the pornography by sketch made some copies of bibles (which the Protestant, Catholic and Jesuits wouldn't want modern faith to know about.)
I don't mind it under the premise that it is dealt with responsibly, but even other continents have shown that with better education and less censorship that the sexual taboo and curiousity is often stifled quickly and carefully.
Again, sorry you feel that way, and I respect your thought in the matter, but personally, I don't see anything wrong with adult entertainment in the North American market, especially with the proactive steps that they've taken towards safety and legal enforcement by procedures. #alexisraven

@Vizion28: I'll just add that there are lots and lots of wonderful nations you can live in that already ban porn.
It just so happens that basically every single one of them is a place where women have fewer liberties.
There is a near perfect correlation between a cultures permissiveness of porn with how well those cultures protect the rights of women. #alexisraven

It's doing the rankings that is difficult. It would be entirely subjective to say women in country x have it better than women in country y.
That's why I spoke generally. Certainly, all the really awful countries for women are restrictive. And all the really progressive ones are not. i.e. all of the middle east is red, and nearly all of western europe is green.
Obviously, there are outliers such as Iceland and whatnot. #alexisraven

Whether we are talking about the innards (cooling systems, GPUs, CPUs, etc.) or the graphical asthetics (themes, wallpaper, etc.), it kind of is your own world that you are working with, and the fact that we can do more on the PC Gaming realm with our rigs (As opposed to the average console kit) adds to the craze within the PC gaming community.
Often, building a rig is alot like going to an expensive candy store, when you consider the different bits and pieces one can buy. Then it becomes more of an obsession when you start adding in the Nitrogen Oxide for cooling solutions (at least in some people's cases -- no pun.) #alexisraven

Thats not fucking saying 'I play Wii' or 'I like Halo, giggle'. Or even 'I play world of warcraft'.
This is above and beyond what your average computer nerd, nay, your average game geek, would say. She knows her stuff and is willing to be open about it. When you're talking about liquid cooling your system and running dual boots AND you're into performing in porno, then yes, I find you rather interesting and wouldn't mind learning more. #alexisraven

As a fellow PC Gamer that also rigs his own desktops, I can vouch that she, AE or not, is able to hold her own against even the rig enthusiast.
The ZR-1 namedrop is also an improper analogy to naming the chipset, since more people know what a ZR-1 Corvette is. Not many know off the top of their head what chipsets they use, let alone how to set up their liquid coolant on a board.
Rave never claimed to be a "supergeek". Instead, she claimed "her life is very nerdy." Some would consider Star Trek to be nerdy, and even unable to be spoken about with the general public for it's umteenth amount of nerdy references. The same applies to building a rig, since most mainstreamers would'nt go through the steps to build a rig and are likely happy to be playing "The Sims 3" and "Peggle".
That is satisfactory enough. Sexpot or not. #alexisraven
