Lost interest since season 2. Last night stopped by for 5mins coz nothing else to watch, and it was still talking about him going back to save Charlie the Nth time, gee, no new plot ? #chronotrigger
@jellyfish: what the fuck do you mean for the ninth time!? they haven't showed Charlie once since she first appeared on the show you ignorant fuck. hopefully sylar cuts your brain out #chronotrigger
@jslizzle: Dont know anything about the show or anything, but I just thought i'd point out he said Nth, not ninth.
As in "insert number here"th time.
Not sure who's arguement that helps or anything as I already said, I know nothing about the show, but it does show that you need to read things more carefully before calling people ignorant fucks. #chronotrigger
@jellyfish: I was pretty pissed about the idea of Hiro going to try and save Charlie AGAIN, but this episode was more like fan service, so I somewhat approved of it. #chronotrigger
@Red Dustpan: Hiro would say "Yatta!!" but I know someone, some where is thinking of that Japanese group who sings half naked with only a leaf to hide their shame or pride (The jury is still out on that one).
Sadly every time Hiro yells "Yatta!!" always reminds me of this video. Sadly my roommate never saw this and he would question my sexuality if I did show it to him. #chronotrigger
@Neko_Tech: I can't see the video because Youtube is blocked where I work, but it sounds like a Japanese version of the Chili peppers sock gig... hehe. They rock. #chronotrigger
They weren't really much of a couple in-game, though, right? I mean, what with Crono being silent the entire time (except for that one ending), they didn't characterize a relationship. I know they apparently get married afterwards in a cutscene, so I'll give it to them, but it's not exactly the strongest in terms of "true-love-relationships," though I can't think of a better example from a relatively well-known time travel video game.
As for Heroes itself, I'd say that this season is the best since the first, but it's still not as good as the first. For those of you who just haven't watched it in forever, give this season a try. It's not as bad. #chronotrigger
@Platypus Man: Well you know, she climbed a mountain and killed a bunch of evil Lavos babies and teamed up with arguably the most evil guy in the world who wasn't really evil to resurrect him... #chronotrigger
@krztov: I know what they feel. I read Annalee's weekly recaps (very funny, even if you don't watch the show), but I feel like it's better than the second and third seasons put together. And they don't all agree, but it's easier to say "Heroes still sucks" than "Heroes sucks mostly, but it's better than it has been in a while."
I think Crono and Marle had a relationship that the player could decide the depth of. That is the point of a silent protagonist. He can be whatever you want. But they definitely had a relationship. #chronotrigger
@krushjudgement: You sir deserve kudos for that. I felt that they had a relationship and a bond from the moment Crono stepped into that worm hole and went gallivanting through time to the final moments when they defeated Lavos. Every step of the way it seemed like I the player would do anything for her and she did allot for Crono. It was up to the player to decide if things flourished and if they would share the adventure with her by including her in the party. #chronotrigger
@Platypus Man: Chrono and marle had as much of a relationship as a silent, chaste (in the course of the game, anyhow) protagonist and a girl could have.
(for the record, though I love both Chrono games and Mario RPG, I HATE Silent Protagonists.)
Why's everyone hating on the show here? I mean, okay, season 2 sucked ass and season 3 wasn't much better, but I think season 4, at least so far, is a huge improvement and might take the show back on the right track. Is there some reason everyone hates the show right now, or is it a case of not bothering to watch the newer episodes? #chronotrigger
I think that it is a case of too little too late, while the show has shown an improvement this season it's still not up to scratch. They had an interesting idea,(although not unique, more unseen on TV), and pissed it away on bland rehashes of Marvel comics stories. #chronotrigger
@Mister Jack commands 1000 prinnies!: I watched seasons 1-3 and I've missed every episode of this season but I still plan on watching them at some point. My main gripe with the show is Sylar. What was once an interesting villain for season 1 has now become an obstacle for writers. He's too damn powerful now. The guy is a God. And the flip-flopping they've done with him from villain to hero back to villain to hero only to go back to villain again was really annoying.
Also every character has some sort of daddy issue as well. I'm just not sure if this show can write itself out of the hole it's put itself in. #chronotrigger
@Mister Jack commands 1000 prinnies!: Yeah, I've stuck with Heroes since the beginning.. I really liked Season 1 and even liked elements of Season 2 (mainly parkman and bennet's storylines), but was a little dissappointed.. The first half of Season 3 was ultimately horrible.. but they started doing some damage control with the second half, but wasn't as good as the first season.
But I really think they've been doing a great job with this season so far.. Yes, they put a lot of characters back to where they were in their jobs and lives at the start, but have actually been developing their characters the way they should have been following Season 1 instead of making them all run around the place.
And tonight's episode was actually really good.. they could have really screwed up where they were going with it, but did it with a lot of humor, and some skill... and there was even some greater wrinkles to Bennet's story.
If you ever liked Heroes at all, I would definitely recommend checking out this season, whether you saw the last two or not, cuz it's back to what Heroes was originally–a show about people dealing with extraordinary things happening to them.
And this season by far has the best new additions over season two and three... these new characters are ones I could follow for the rest of the show if some of the original cast leaves... and thank the lord they're writing Peter well again after two years of him doing stupid thing after stupid thing after stupid thing.
Seriously, if you ever liked the show, try this season out... from the premiere, because the development of Samuel is getting interesting.. #chronotrigger
@ph15h: I was so disappointed after Season 1 being absolutely mind-blowing incredible for a TV show...it's just been downhill from there. I watched all of the following seasons (unfortunately, watching Peter and Hiro lose their powers was probably one of the most painful things...period) but haven't even bothered to keep up with this season so far.
They just took a great thing and really screwed it up. I know the writers changed, and the writer's strike didn't help, but man. It's just too bad.
Thankfully, V starts tomorrow night and that has some serious promise. #chronotrigger
@ph15h: Agrees with both parts of your post. Fantastic reference, but this show is so far from salvaging that I honestly don't care to even check out this episode to hear this. Oh, well. At least it was great for one season. :) #chronotrigger
Blergh, TV can go to hell. I can't understand why Heroes is still on and Dollhouse looks like it's going to join all the other stuff I liked in TV oblivion.
I suppose it must be cheap to make, I mean all they need to do is cut up a few X-men comics and throw them down on a table to get the script for the week. #chronotrigger
@Weirdwolf Is Restared To Glory!: Tv doesn't have to go to hell. But Heroes does. Dollhouse is alright, it's not great, but I definitely like it better than Heroes, and it still has potential. Heroes was alright when it started, terrible for its second season, great in the first half of the third season, and then god awful again after that.
It's not cheap to make, in fact, they spent so much money on it and the ratings still didn't pcik up so people got fired. But for all the money they spend on the show, the visual effects are just plain awful, some of the worst I've ever seen. And they assume if they make it look more comic-like that people will just assume that choice was made not because they couldnt get a better company to do the effects. The show just tried to be like Lost, except it doesn't even come close, Like Flashforward is trying to do as well. #chronotrigger
@Desmondia: The unshown episode of Dollhouse was great, it really showed where they could go and what the cast was capable of. Eliza Dushku is ok but the Sierra/Victor couple are great the last episode was wonderful.
I gave up with lost about halfway through season two, they just seemed to be jamming in so much at random with no attempt to explain anything or get the characters to show any sort of continuity in their behaviour.
Blergh what do I know, I don't watch much tv but over the last few years for example I've liked Dead Like Me, Firefly, The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Pushing Daises. I'm instant death to tv shows!

@Weirdwolf Is Restared To Glory!: The unshown episode of dollhouse was incredible, and the last aired episode was great, and it's for that reason, they throw too much mythology at us without explaining any of it. It's like, where Lost just keeps things mysterious and gives us little bits but doesn't give us anything major without explaining it a bit, Dollhouse gives us too much and doesn't do a good job of telling us what everything means, or at least why it's significant.
Two differing opinions, but I always suggest getting back into Lost for those who fell out during season 2, that was just too early to stop. #chronotrigger
Wheedon always seems to have a plan with his shows, the ideas are there as seeds for later stories. I felt with Lost,(as with a lot of modern shows) that they were so worried about being cancelled that they just throw things in hoping that some of it sticks which is why so little is got back to. #chronotrigger
@Weirdwolf Is Restared To Glory!:
They had a plan with Lost, the problem is that when it was new and not so well known the producers would throw things out. They had plans for a lot of it but they didn't have an end date, and so a lot of their stuff was given but no answers were given yet. They revealed a lot in the second half of season two and have done so much since, and having set a series end back before season 4 started they were then able to make the show the way they really wanted to, and make it seem like it was going somewhere. I've personally always loved it because their character development is so rich and intimate for almost every single character, and that's my favorite thing about writing, so naturally i took to it really well.
Whedon is great because he does have a series end planned, but I think sometimes that may be what holds him back. Of course I can't really speak about him until I've seen all of firefly. #chronotrigger
You really should watch the last bits of Firefly and then Serenity. I'm always surprised when I'm asked that that is my favourite Wheedon show, I always think for some reason it should be Buffy but Firefly is just.... better. And that has nothing at all to do with the Glaubot, MMmmmmmmmGlaubotmmMMM, well almost nothing. Now if you want me I'll be in my bunk. #chronotrigger
Heroes was so awesome... before it fell ill to "we must make it last as long as possible" disease.
Really, few stories are worth spanning more than 50 episodes. So many good shows that could have a great ending have fallen to this disease... and everyone loves it.
Everyone except me. Everyone thinks I'm crazy... but a good story deserves to end gracefully, not at the hands of some Exec that wants to extend it's longevity no matter what the cost.
A similar term would be sequelitis, except... No! I must resist the urge to look it up on TVtropes!
Anyways, am I alone in this or are there other people who share my disdain for this side of TV culture? #chronotrigger
@Trygle12... NOW IN HD!: I completely agree with you. Especially with the ability to now easily purchase TV on DVD, Blu Ray or through digital download. There is NOTHING wrong with a TV show running 3-4 seasons and having that be the end. #chronotrigger
@Trygle12... NOW IN HD!: Completely agree. It's one of the reasons I love anime, some of the stories are so great but they end and you want more but you feel fulfilled, similiar to the way you feel after reading a good book or completing a good game.
Prime example: Cowboy Bebop
There are series I think could have gone on a bit longer though, Firefly is one of them, that could have gone double it's length and still retained it's greatness. Terminator: TSCC would have been a good show too if it was allowed to continue for an extra year. #chronotrigger
@chemical_eng_mx: How could they make a Chrono Trigger reference and not spell it that way? I still watch Heroes every week and that would have made me mad at the writers. #chronotrigger
I ended up watching Heroes because House isn't on, and I'm glad I did. Totally made my day. Funny that this great moment came about by returning to events from the first season. #chronotrigger
@octaslash: Being irish I turned off the second season when the "Irish" guys opened their mouths. Don't understand why shows can't hire someone who at least has the accent or screen it to an irish person for a thumbs up! #chronotrigger
This is a line Hiro said of Charlie on his blog during the Heroes360 experience, and I thought it was adorable and awesome beyond all measure. I haven't seen the episode yet, so I don't know the context, but I'm glad that they actually put the comparison to use. #chronotrigger
