Harvey Birdman Objects To 2007 Release

Another November release date bites the dust, as Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law will see a suspended release until next year. Like EA's Army of Two, Mr. Birdman was planned to ship on November 13, but for the PSP, PlayStation 2 and Wii, and is now scheduled for 2008. The reason? Store shelves would have been simply too crowded the week before Black Friday and the Cartoon Network lawyer would have been financially sent to die. More »

If you liked Phoenix Wright, you'll love Harvey Birdman. Or maybe you won't, I don't know your life. Regardless, Capcom has graced us with a bunch of new screens for the upcoming game featuring Harvey and the game up to their courtroom antics. I always love the inclusion of the various Hanna-Barbera characters and if you look close, you can even see Peanut holding a PSP. Ah, self-referentiality, you never grow old.

Harvey Birdman Investigative Gameplay

We've seen the courtroom gameplay back during ComiCon, but the investigative side of Capcom's upcoming Harvey Birdman title feels even more like the show, with a complete lack of HUD and interactive menu screen popping up only on occasion. I want this exact game in ATHF format. You know, modeled after the episodes 0 to 1 when they had some semblance of being a group of detectives. Or freeform stoner style. It all works.

Capcom's Schedule

Capcom's got their schedule (or shhhhedule as my wife would say) posted in their forums. Lots going on besides the games. There will be appearances by Mega Man and Harvey Birdman, the producer of Ace Attorney (Minae Matsukawa) and the writer of Shade II cellphone MMO (Marv Wolfman).

There will also be some gaming tournaments, including Lost Planet on the Xbox 360 and Puzzle Fighter and non-press will get their first chance for a bit of hands on with Umbrella Chronicles and Zack and Wiki.

There will not be, I repeat NOT BE, a cage match between the new Mega Man and the old Birdman. I think a small party of me died inside. Hit the jump for the full shhhhhhhhedule.
