<![CDATA[Harvey Birdman Objects To 2007 Release]]> Another November release date bites the dust, as Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law will see a suspended release until next year. Like EA's Army of Two, Mr. Birdman was planned to ship on November 13, but for the PSP, PlayStation 2 and Wii, and is now scheduled for 2008. The reason? Store shelves would have been simply too crowded the week before Black Friday and the Cartoon Network lawyer would have been financially sent to die.

The news was confirmed by Capcom's Christian Svensson, Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Research, on the company's official boards. After a SiliconEra story writing of an updated ship date from retailers, Svensson redponded to fan concerns that it wasn't going to make the holidays.

Taking another look at the list of upcoming releases for November, having Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law go up against Super Mario Galaxy, Assassin's Creed and about two dozen other games releasing the same day, it's clear Capcom did right by its niche title.

Delayed? [Capcom via NeoGAF]

<![CDATA[Capcom Contest Duo Makes Double Jeopardy Fun!]]> The publisher of intense legal dramas Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law is holding a pair of contests that will test your sense of humor while potentially netting you some free goodies. "Goodies?" you respond. Yes, goodies like video games, bobble heads and all sorts of licensed, high-quality crap. The Phoenix Wright competition tests your LOLcats skills at a beginner level, while the Harvey Birdman one issues a bigger challenge, requiring a cut and paste comic strip that knocks the socks of off the Capcom crew.

Full details on each contest are at the official Capcom blog. Good luck and make with the hilarity already.

<![CDATA[Devil May Cry 4, Zack & Wiki, Harvey Birdman Box Art Blowout]]> Capcom has put out a fresh batch of piping hot box art for us to judge, including highly anticipated games such as Devil May Cry 4, Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure and Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law. Obviously, you can see Nero sporting his fancypants glowstick hand above, but the rest of box art fun continues after the break.

<![CDATA[Wii Subpoenas Harvey Birdman]]> Previously announced for the PS2 and PSP, Capcom is bring Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law to the Nintendo Wii this November. I would accuse the game of being a ripoff of Phoenix Wright, but Capcom makes Phoenix Wright as well, so I am just going to shut up now.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is a fully animated interactive adventure game that merges the fun and mayhem of the popular Adult Swim TV show with Capcom's unique style of gameplay. Players will step into the shiny wingtips of Harvey Birdman, a third-rate superhero turned third-rate defense attorney charged with exonerating parodied classic cartoon characters.
I'm actually planning on picking this one up. Between my deep love for the PW style of gameplay and the humor of Harvey Birdman lovingly reproduced in video game for as evidenced by the gameplay footage we posted awhile back, this one could be a winner. If anything you get to set Guile's hair on fire, and let's face it - Guile is kind of a dick.
WII TAKES THE CASE - HARVEY BIRDMAN: ATTORNEY AT LAW COMES HOME TO ROOST ON THE LATEST NINTENDO VIDEO GAME SYSTEM SAN MATEO, Calif — Sept. 4, 2007  Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced today that Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law™ is now coming to the Wii™ video game system from Nintendo. The Wii version of Harvey joins the previously announced PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PSP® (PlayStation® Portable) system versions of the game. The Wii version of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law will carry a suggested retail price of $39.99, while the PS2 and PSP versions will have an SRP of $29.99. Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law will be available for all three platforms on November 13.

Over the course of the game, players must guide Harvey through a series of odd and comical cases. Each of the game's five interactive stories takes the winged crusader of justice to familiar locations from the TV show. In order to prove his client's innocence, Harvey must peruse the scene of the crime, gather evidence, talk with other cartoon characters, occasionally have drinks with opposing council, and of course, tear holes - no matter how ridiculous - in the testimony provided by the witness for the prosecution. Harvey must bring the whole story together to defend his client in a court where anything can happen... including a confrontation with the prosecution who brandishes a Shrink Ray Gun. With outrageous gameplay and the comical antics of hilarious animated characters, players and fans alike will feel that they are not just taking control of a character, but actually taking part in a brand new episode of Harvey Birdman.

<![CDATA[Capcom Announces Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law For PS2, PSP]]> It was announced briefly at last week's Capcom Spring Gamers Day, but now it's triple dog official as the publisher pegs Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law for a fall release for the PlayStation 2 and PSP.

While gameplay details weren't revealed at the formal press event, the game looks to take the story driven adventure system from Capcom's other legal eagle Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, add the comic stylings of the television show's writing staff and put it on a disc.

I'm calling it now. If Capcom doesn't announce a Matlock game for the Nintendo Wii within the year, I'll eat a delicious pile of nachos. Yeah, I'm dead serious about this one.

CAPCOM ENTERTAINMENT SHOWS THAT JUSTICE IS BLIND BUT STILL PLAYS VIDEO GAMES WITH HARVEY BIRDMAN ATTORNEY AT LAW

Third-Rate Superhero as Third-Rate Lawyer in Top-Notch Game for the PlayStation 2 Computer Entertainment System and PSP (PlayStation Portable) System

SAN MATEO, Calif — April 13, 2007 - Capcom Entertainment, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that it is in production on Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, an interactive fiction game that merges the fun and mayhem of the popular Adult Swim TV show with Capcom's unique style of gameplay. Capcom Entertainment plans to release Harvey Birdman -Attorney at Law for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system in North America this fall.

"Combining Capcom's adventure game expertise with Adult Swim's Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law characters is an ideal match," said Jack Symon, director, marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "Capcom will be providing the game design direction while Harvey Birdman show writers will be assisting in bringing the stories to life with their unique brand of humor."

"With Capcom's past success in the legal game-play arena, working with them to bring Harvey Birdman to a whole new platform was the perfect verdict for both companies," said Christina Miller, vice president of consumer products for Cartoon Network Enterprises, the licensing and merchandising division of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. "Fans should really enjoy being in control of the barely controllable legal "eagle" Harvey Birdman."

Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law is primarily an interactive story that the player participates in, rather than a challenge-based game that needs to be won. Each case is a self-contained story, incorporating the characters, settings, and most importantly, the off-beat humor that Harvey Birdman fans have come to expect.

Over the course of the game, players must guide Harvey through a series of odd and comical cases. In order to prove his client's innocence, Harvey must explore the scene of the crime, gather evidence, talk with other cartoon characters, occasionally have drinks with opposing council, and of course, tear holes -no matter how ridiculous- in the testimony provided by the witnesses for the prosecution.
