Continuing his photo odyssey of Japan, Wired's Chris Kohler stumbled upon a saucy version of Bandai's PS2 series .hack. Let's see... A naughty knock off of .hack using some of the letters in the game's title. The options are endless! We've got: .jack, .rack or even .lick. But, you know, those are a little too vague and don't leap out at non-English speakers. We need something to more blunt. Yup, we need ".fuck."

Pic shamefully hidden after the jump.

<![CDATA[WoW I Feel Violated]]> So I finally had a few spare moments last night to finally log into World of Warcraft and catch up with some of my friends, maybe finish a quest or two, slowly inch my way towards level 70 so I could play with the big kids. Upon login, I am greeted by this:

Not good.

Could just be a glitch though, right? Stranger things have been known to happen. I go ahead and select my old buddy Rande here on the Ysera server, and find myself in an unfamiliar place.

Naked in the bank by a mailbox. Never a good sign.

Yes, my account was hacked, everything sellable I had was sold, the money more than likely mailed to someone on the other end of that mailbox and then mailed again and again, until it became all but untraceable.

You never think this'll happen to you, but there it is. Don't know if I got hit up by a key logger or what, but everything I played so hard for is gone. It's all fake stuff mind you, but I logged in expecting to get some quests done and hang out with my friends, and now that's not going to happen. Bastards.

Not going to beg though. I put in a petition and was answered within 30 minutes. Much faster than I expected, though I did namedrop Kotaku just a little bit. The GM took my information and escalated it to investigations, assuring me that they will be able to help me recover my things, which would be pretty spiffy of them.

Now I set about the task of changing my passwords for just about everything, just in case. Pondering cleaning my hard drive off and starting fresh, just in case. It's enough to make me want to buy a Mac.

My suggestion? Monitor the hell out of your computer for items running that you don't know, change your password on a regular basis, and don't get too attached to the items you've collected, because tomorrow they might not be there.

<![CDATA[Xbox 360 Hacked? Like Hacked Hacked?!]]> We've been through this song and dance before, and we'll probably go through it again. An Xbox modding collective dubbed the Devil360 Team claims to have developed a 360 modchip. The team sent website Xbox-Scene a heads-up email. Hit the j-u-m-p to read it.

Our server is currently down due the huge amount of hits we received yesterday. We will move to more powerful servers and we hope to be back online tomorrow.

The Devil360 will be a modchip for the Xbox 360 console, the 'small' security hole has been found! This device is in no way related to the DVD firmware exploits - it's a totally different approach.
However we did not manage to get the product ready for today (6/6/6), because we are working hard on improving it to:
* Try to protect it from any type of update
* Make it programmable via PC
* Boot unsigned code
* Allow to swap HD with larger drive with a special interface between the 360 and the HD (all types IDE/SATA).
* And more...

We understand, certainly after the ICE modchip story, that people will not easily believe this so we will send prototypes to some scene sites as soon as they are ready, so they can confirm it's real.
The modchip will be sold without any code.

We also discovered some shops already take pre-orders for this product. Do not pre-order it!
We did not announce any distributors yet and the device will not go on pre-order until at least after the prototypes have been tested/reviewed by independent sites.

Folks over at the GamerHistory Forum seem to think this is the real deal. Click here for the Devil360 website and judge for yourself.

<![CDATA[PSP 2.01 Already Hacked]]> hackers.jpg

Boing Boing alerted us to the hacking of PSP 2.01 (already), this time PSP 3D did it. How'd they do it this time? Boing Boing points to some published cheats for Grand Theft Auto: LCS as the way in. Some more details and a how-to are readable at the PSP 3D forums.

<![CDATA[Mario Kart DS: Already Hacked?]]> HACKED, YES

A thread at the perpetually informative Gaming-Age Forums points to a GSCentral thread discussing the hackability of Nintendo's WiFi system. One user, Parasyte, claims to have already gotten several offline tracks in Mario Kart DS playable online - but he's not saying how. Here's a clip of an offline level being played online. I want more information, I want to know how to do this and I want to see what Nintendo is going to do. Upon hearing the news of hte hack Crecente asked, "Did they give Mario boobs?" Only a matter of time, my friend, only a matter of time.

<![CDATA[PSP Hacked (Again)]]> PSP Hacks says that Butterballer360 (great name, btw) over at PSP3d has found an exploit in the latest PSP firmware. While this comes as a shock to literally no human being alive, here's what this latest exploit is: "These folks have discovered a way around the TIFF overflow patch for the recent exploit discovered in firmware version 2.0. Similar to the initial exploit discovered in 2.0 this currently freezes the PSP when executed - allowing the possibility of arbitrary code to be ran."

So, not homebrew ready yet, this is probably the first step on the way to recracking the PSP for the nine millionth time. Stay tuned.
