Gyakuten Saiban 4 is Capcom's most successful entry in Ace Attorney series to date. Since going on sale April 12th in Japan, a half a million copies have been shipped. When Gyakuten Saiban was previously localized into English with Phoenix Wright, the game was so popular and hard to get because Capcom didn't print enough copies. Even in an age when success is judged in Pokémon standards, Gyakuten Saiban 4 is a hit with no objections here.

<![CDATA[Gyakuten Saiban 4 On Sale. A Master Class In Game Promotion.]]>

The first and second floors of Akihabara retailer AsoBitCity featured posters, banners and cut-outs promoting the release of Gyakuten Saiban 4 (AKA "Ace Attorney 4"). But that's been done before. A gazillion times before, and customers are so jaded. This Gyakuten Saiban is different —There's a new attorney, and that calls for new advertising. Which is why AsoBitCity created this by the cash register:

There are even bits of brain. Brilliant. This is in-store promotion done right!

<![CDATA[Bikini Girls Promote New Ace Attorney Game]]>

Weekly manga Young Magazine knows what its young, male readers like: They like girls. Girls in skimpy outfits. So, if Young Magazine is going to do a piece on Gyakuten Saiban 4 ("Ace Attorney" series in the West), it needs something to hold its readers' interest. Yup, it needs girls in skimpy outfits. Otherwise, the readers will just flip by, looking for cheesecake photos. So! Hit the jump for the pages in full, all relatively safe for work.

<![CDATA[Bad News Importers, Gyakuten Saiban 4 Japanese Only]]>

Objection! While previous entries into the Gyakuten Saiban series (AKA "Ace Attorney") featured Japanese and English language options making them import friendly, the latest entry does not apparently. Online importer Play-Asia notes on the product page:

Japanese language support ONLY

Customers not proficient in the Japanese language have two options: A). Wait till it gets a proper localized Western release or B). Study hard. You decide!

Capcom has roped in "Maruyama bengoshi" (literally "Maruyama-lawyer," AKA Kazuya Maruyama) for its new Gyakuten Saiban 4 commercial. Maruyama often appears on TV, explaining Japanese law. Actually, saw the ad for the first time last night, and bam, here it is this morning on the internet. Amazing!

<![CDATA[Mr. Not-Phoenix Wright, What Is On Your Arm?]]>

Phoenix Wright has been put out to pasture. The newest Gayukuten Saiban game from Capcom will feature a new finger-pointin' legal eagle named "Odoroki." While Phoenix was decked out in a proper suit, Odoroki wears hipster duds, complete with a bracelet. Whatever, asks Famitsu, does that bracelet mean? The game's director Shuu Takumi says:

Well, it's when he (Odoroki) shouts out 'Objection.' When he does that and nothing's on his arm, he seems a little lonely so we thought we could make him wear this. Now that he's wearing it, lots of people thinks there's a meaning to it and asks us, 'Is there a meaning to this?' Now we'll have to think of a meaning for it.

The car trunk in Kiss Me Deadly, the briefcase in Pulp Fiction and now some dude's bracelet in Gyakuten Saiban 4. Mysteries, all of 'em.
