Having suffered the indignity of a later release and not being able to request replacements as soon as they broke, EA is trying to make amends by ... letting you keep your faulty equipment? Well, I guess it does save the trouble of going to the post office:

Hello,

I know that many of you have been waiting for quite awhile, but we have good news.

All Canadian RMAs placed before January 9th, have shipped!

You should see that your RMAs have all been updated to Parts Shipped to reflect this. Depending on where in Canada you live, you should receive your replacement item within the next six days. If you have not received your new peripheral by January 16th, please contact customer support at www.support.ea.com. Be sure to create a new incident rather than updating your RMA incident to prevent any possible issues.

In appreciation of the patience of our Canadian customers who placed an RMA prior to January 9th, we are not requiring customers receiving this set of RMAs to return your faulty peripheral to us and we will also be removing your credit card hold within the next few days.

Thank you again for your patience as we build and improve our Canadian Rock Band warranty program. Please accept our apologies for the wait and any inconvenience.

Who needs a free game when you've got a broken guitar to keep?

<![CDATA[ The Kiss Guitar Hero Contoller Made From a Real Guitar ]]>
Art Guitar is creating some very special, limited edition Guitar Hero guitars called the AG Riff Master Guitar Controller. But, these aren't your average tiny plastic versions, oh no! These are made from actual real Peavy guitars and are full sized to heighten your gameplay experience. As an added bonus, each guitar will be decorated with paintings of some of rocks most beloved iconic stars including Kiss and a few more that will be announced soon. The fancy peripherals are set to drop in the holiday season this year. No word yet on how much these puppies are going to cost , but we'll be sure to keep you updated as more is known.

<![CDATA[ Clip: Heatseeker Trailer ]]> If for some reason the Wii does one day fade into obscurity, it will long be remembered by video game trailer editors as the system that introduced the superimposing of disembodied hands to their profession. Here's a new trailer for Codemasters' jet fighting game Heatseeker for the Wii, which demonstrate this versions unique control scheme.

The game, also due out for the PS2 and PSP, is shaping up to be a fine arcade jet shooter in the Top Gun vein, complete with over the top guitar riffs, which I absolutely adore. I think my ideal game would be one where you ride a motorcycle on top of a flying jet while using an electric guitar that shoots lasers to take out flying robot sharks.

<![CDATA[ Getcher Parappa, Um Jammer Lammy Guitars Here! ]]> I'll admit that I never made it through Um Jammer Lammy, despite the game's critical success. I've played Parappa the Rapper the death. Hell, I even suffered through a good hour of the sub-par PlayStation 2 sequel, but Lammy? I just didn't "get it".

But Um Jammer Lammy enthusiasts with an extra 300-ish smackers in their smoking pockets can still get their strummin' hands on some very sweet licensed guitars. They may not sound all that great—built-in speakers, y'know—but the gaming nerd cred is off the charts here.

GameSetWatch's gentlemanly editor Simon C. helps clue in us Westerners with the details on how to snag these Japan-only guitars courtesy of collector Dan Amrich. Check out the handy write up and get spending, consuming public!
